Add different respect Mark all the way back from when I first discovered him in 1983 "Scarface"... But you kids got to stop over-using the word "GOAT" for EVERYTHING. He was my favorite actor, and I first got to know him through Breaking Bad. After that, I made sure to watch almost all of his work. I’m not sure where you got the idea that I’m a kid, but this was my personal tribute to an actor who meant a lot to me. And instead of letting that be, you drop this completely unnecessary comment. It’s not about using GOAT for everything, it’s about what he represented to me, let people express their respect in their own way without feeling the need to correct them, especially when it comes from a genuine place.

Fr lol I was just thinking about that. This is like an alt universe episode where they were both supported in poverty and weren’t pressured into a life of being a provider. The thing they keep stressing throughout this whole interview is basically “let people help. Let urself suck. Try to do something cool and enjoy being poor.” It’s like exactly what both of these characters from the show probably regret the most; they did evil things to provide for their family. When it is sometimes possible to just admit to people that you do need help. It’s Walt’s story too.

Wow. I have mad new respect for these guys. The characters that they played on Breaking Bad were absolutely incredible. I can’t imagine anyone else playing those roles. But. to these two men, Breaking Bad is just one job/experience that they have in their pockets. These men are actual thespians. I’m a musician, so this shouldn’t surprise me, but I’m incredibly moved by this interaction. Artists have no choice but to be artists. We don’t choose this endeavor, yet we’ll suffer through it for our whole life. It’s literally not a choice that we make, it’s not even a calling…it’s an obligation, or a sort of predetermined destiny. These two men have taken their destiny to the apex. Again, mad respect…

As I get older I have gained such an appreciation for these incredible character actors and everything they bring to the table. These two gentlemen are great examples of two guys that make anything they were in that much better. Mark Margolis was a guy that had so much presence in any role I ever saw him in. You couldn’t help but be drawn to him. I have seen Jonathan Banks in less over the years but he is also a total pro. I get excited whenever I see him in something. … just a couple of absolute pros that brought instant credibility to anything they acted in.

What you are saying is absolutely true. For more than a year now, I have been struggling to find the right advice to give my my youngest son, who is a very good - but not great - classical pianist. If I tell him to think in practical terms, like his extremely successful brothers in the business world, he will make a ton of money and have no financial concerns. If I tell him to follow his joy, he will probably just scrape by as an accompanist, piano teacher, piano tuner, maybe a church musician.
