@@Thatguy-gy3yw when it first came out, that's what I thought as well, but as time went on, I've seen people call it a "disappointment", a "let down" and very similar things more and more.

@Doctah Wahwee 1. I kind of agree with that. Some of the others characters were doing or saying stuff that was un-needed. 2. The movie may have been somewhat rushed, but it was delayed by two and a half years, so it could have been worse. 3. I don't agree with it being unoriginal and re-using plot points from the other movies. I didn't see it that way. 4. I thought Grimmel's death was perfect, but I can see what you're saying. I do agree that How to Train Your Dragon 3 is the weakest of the three, but I still believe it's on the same level as the other two. As for Kung Fu Panda 3, {I just want to bring this up since you mentioned it} I honestly don't think it had an "overabundance of comedy". They used comedy at the right moments, and when the movie got serious, they knew to let the movie have its serious moments.

@Doctah Wahwee 1. I understand that. As for How to Train Your Dragon 3, I agree that there times where comedy was un-needed. Sometimes characters said or did stuff that they shouldn't have, as I've said. For example, I didn't like how Snotlout went "Number 2, is about to become number 1", when Grimmel took Toothless and the other dragons. Hiccup was stressed and Snotlout was just basically mocking him. Also, I don't think Kung Fu Panda 3 had those kinds of moments though. 2. I completely agree. 3. I definitely see that, but I think that's what they were going for. The world learning to accept co-existence with dragons was a huge theme for the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, so I think finding a location for dragons was necessary in each movie. 4. I know what you mean, I just never really caught on to that. 5. Exactly what I had in mind. 6. I highly recommend watching Kung Fu Panda 3 again if you haven't seen it in a while. I thought Kung Fu Panda 3 was the perfect ending to the trilogy, just like How to Train Your Dragon 3. Po finally understood who he was, as the dragon warrior, which was what his journey was about in the trilogy. Everyone was left in a good place. It's actually kind of similar to Toy Story 3's ending, where everyone was left in a new place and was happy. I don't think comedy ruined the moments, but I respect your opinion. I actually agree with what you said about Kai. Although I thought he was a great villain, that was the one thing that I didn't like about him. I wish his backstory with Oogway was more in-depth and I don't think it was detailed/elaborated enough. As for the spirit realm, Po did permanently die when he took Kai to the spirit realm. He came back as his spirit. Same thing with Kai. That's why Kai said, "I, am a spirit warrior", because Po couldn't skadoosh him back to the spirit realm, because Kai was already dead.

Just a lil side note: the light fury is not a female night fury, these are two different species, but are pretty close to one another

Yeah I think the night fury is an evolved form of the light fury or something. Just a headcannon I have but it would make sense why they are two different species and can still reproduce together. Also explains why night fury's are black since they evolved to blend in with the overworld's night sky.

Light fury is like a sub-species. They're different species, but close enough to be able to mate. Like different kinds of rhinos or giraffes. I call their little kids "nightlights" 😁

the thing i love most about this movie is that it’s pretty realistic in the idea that letting go of toothless is better than keeping him in the line of danger. also, it’s interesting because it sets up the world we live in now, and gives a believable theory for why the dragons are no longer here 💗 i love your reactions, and this movie holds a special place in my heart!

You need to watch Riders of Berk and Race to the Edge. They explain so much of the Lore and Geography, and builds the world spectacularly. The many dragon species featured explain a lot for the movies

I kinda love how Hiccup and Toothless are darker with Hiccup’s hair and Toothless’s black scales. While Astrid has light hair and the white light fury is also light. It’s like the dynamics in color are matched by Astrid and Hiccup and Toothless and the white light fury.

10:12 Not once have I ever seen anyone who reacted to this movie mention anything about the lighting. In the first movie when Hiccup went through the book of dragons it states on the nightfury page Speed unknown Size unknown *The unholy offspring of lightning* and death itself Never engage this dragon Your only chance....hide and pray it does not find you (Yes I've memoriesed that whole book word for word) Out of all of my friends and family who has seen the whole trilogy I was the only one who caught onto this IK die hard fans of this show would've caught onto this within an instant but I get so sad no one else ever catches onto this :')

If you want to be even more blown away by cute, I'm not sure where it was first mentioned but it is official that the babies of Toothless and the Light Fury are called "Night Lights" as they are a whole new species of their own! The babies are also named Dart, Pouncer, and Ruffrunner. You can find the info around the internet : D

I’ve seen this movie like 5 times and I cry pretty much every time. I love this trilogy!! They won’t make any more movies it was confirmed by the director, he only wanted to do a trilogy but there are a few shows and short films that are also really good that add and expand the How to train you dragon universe!!

God Damn This Finale of a Movie is Controversial and Divisive Among the Fandom. This is my Personal Favorite of The Trilogy and HTTYD 2 is Just Overrated even after 2 Years. and the Light fury Deserves more Love rather than Condescending hate from those who are Fanfic Writers that are against the Ending or the Existence of Light furies and preferred a Female Night fury. Third Date needs to loved more. It's the first piece of music I heard before watching the movie (since it came out earlier in some countries :/). Third Date is magical! Third Date makes me feel a sense of wonder and intrigue! It's Whimsical! Nothing in this world is perfect but I'm damn near close to wanting to call Third Date perfect. I can listen to it for hours and I've fallen asleep to it (as someone who tends to stay up all night or have a hard time falling asleep, that is a big help). Third Date is John Powell's best work and he can do no better than it.

Recommendation: please watch tales of arcadia series trilogy. Start with trollhunters:tales of arcadia. The creatures in it give off a very how to train your dragon vibe to it. Its cool cuz its also made by dreamworks!
