That white material is where it’s at. Also if you ever hit the old black looking conglomerate material. It’s loaded! Oldest stuff in the river. Original stream bed! Man I’m missing dredging! Awesome footage!

Hello sir how deep does your suction nozzle can go.. I made myself a home made suction jet.. With a 4inch water pump running with 10hp engine and it can only lift materials as dep as 4feet.. Beyond that deep it can no longer suck materials. To run it to the 21 inch sluice.. I'm using a miners moss as mat.. Thanx...

Any reason why you don't bring a flat head screw driver and break the dirt apart and maybe drill into the crevices a bit more?

I do use a flat head most of the time. I'm filming solo so it's one hand on the camera and one hand on the nozzle while filming.

Yeah, they cleaned out the main paystreak. But they missed the .8 I found in this video. I have more spots though and I'm sure I'll come across more. I just want to know what they got, for the amount of material they moved it had to be good.

That's the A-52? What is the waterflow gpm? Is this pitch 1 inch for every foot? I've watched so many shows I'm losing track.
@timellis59543 жыл бұрын
Kevin, I don't know if you're trying to be funny or asking serious questions. I also have watched a lot of videos on how sluices should be ran. But the best way to figure it out is by doing it. Experience is key to knowledge. There is no way for me to tell you the gpm. The V in the water flow is just one factor to let me know my sluice is running correctly. Next would be how fast is the material clearing out. If you will notice where the water is in the video, it's just above the bolts(again another factor) which it should stay that same depth all the way thru the sluice. I hope this helps. Good luck and heavy pans.

@@timellis5954 I've been spending hours trying to figure out what size pump would be recommended for what size sluice. It seems, due to my location, that I'd be better off building my drywasher and using it after the rainy season. Even though I built a sluice with dream carpet, and I'm sure you saw the post, I'm stumped.
@timellis59543 жыл бұрын
I would recommend looking at sluices that are similar in size to yours that are on the market for sale and see what they recommend for gpm for their sluice or try and contact David that makes the dream mat and get his input on what you should use. The width of your sluice is going to play a major factor in gpm.
@TheLensSchwendi3 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin, the A-52 is a hand sluicebox from Keene Engineering. The best way to learn dredging is doing it and testing the tailings, i.e. if the recovery is OK. The optimal settings can be pretty different for different situations. Good luck and take care!
