Hey. Please thumb this up so she sees it. If you rotate your couch with the back to the kitchen and buy a tv Mount that wraps around that column (I did it in an apartment before) then you can keep the couch and have an awesome living room.

Two years ago I was splitting up with my ex as well after 6 years and living in the same place. Man, when I saw her tear up and look at the house it was definitely a flashback. It’s so hard to leave a part of you behind. But I swear you will re-emerge a different person but that person will be a better one with tons of lessons learned. Don’t feel like you always have to be “excited” to vlog and stuff or “on” for the camera. I wish you the best and you are so right about your apt’s view! Soooooo awesome!

have you considered splitting up the couch? You can have a blanket across the end to hide the unleathered portion and put the other end agains the other window? That way you can hang on to the couch you love, have the extra seating and put in your island. Just a thought. It looked like it would fit and allow access to the doorway

Our place is roughly 570 sq ft and the only way to fit our dresser in the bedroom is by pushing our bed into the corner. We don’t even have a full size closet! You should also get a chair that has the wire open back. Shotfromthestreet (lizzy hadfield) has some in her living room and she said it provides seating without the piece of furniture feeling like it’s filling a room. Because you can see through the chair. That would be good for a small space.

Awwww, Mel, I wanted to give you a big hug when you were tearing up. This is all such a huge change and you’re doing so well. ❤️ I feel you on the furniture. I actually was forced to move just recently from a huge apartment into one exactly the same size as yours, 550sqft. I had to sell pretty much all of my furniture and buy stuff that would fit and/or give me enough storage. It was tough going for a while, but now that it’s all set up I actually love my smaller place so much more - it feels really cosy and a perfect size for just me and my pet. I really hope that you find the same thing with your new place, and that sooner than later you get to a point where it feels like a cosy little oasis for you and Tika. The apartment itself is really beautiful and the view is incredible, so I wish you all the best and hope you’re settling in nicely.

Hey! New subscriber here. It is literally crazy how I’m going through the exact same thing right now so thank you for sharing your experience. I know it definitely helps me to feel better to know I’m not the only person in the world going through this. One thing I wanted to say was that I also have an L shaped couch, and I’m actually having the movers switch the chase from the right to the left so that the long piece is by the window. Not sure if you can do the same with your couch, but something to consider if you don’t want to get rid of it. Best of luck to you!
