Not even 1 minute in and I already felt emotional when Taylor said "Goodbye house", especially since this is the first and last time we got to see the house exterior. Really pretty exterior btw. I flew with my kitty out of Japan back to North America. Let me just say as a WORD OF WARNING to anyone doing something similar. DO NOT let them tell you it is OK to give multiple rabies shots in one visit or within a short period of time. The rabies shots will probably be a requirement but be sure to NOT give multiples even if they say it is OK. This applies to cats, but perhaps also dogs - I can't speak to dogs because I only traveled with my cat. After finally getting everything lined up to leave Japan with my cat, we arrived in the US where the vet wanted to again vaccinate him against rabies. I won't go into long details here (unless anyone wants more info), but after being assured by the vet that giving multiple rabies shots was normal and OK, my cat's system broke down and after an absolutely devastating month of sickness, he passed away. PLEASE PLEASE be careful about rabies shots and vaccinations which they say are safe - especially when moving overseas when there are so many different requirements. I'm especially thinking about Sharla if/when she moves back to Canada with her kitties. This has been a devastating experience for our family. I just felt I needed to mention this here. Ironically, I am now again back in Japan, so it was all for nothing. Heartbroken.

Hi, so sorry for your loss!!! But thank you for posting this, I will definitely have this comment printed out and placed in the documents folder of my cats!! I am in the process of taking them to Tokyo, right now I am in Japan and in a week time I'll go back to Italy to pick them up and take them here (I wanted to avoid quarantine in Japan!). But I am already so stressed out. My cats gained weight while with foster lady, like they picked up 2 kg in a month!, but they had already done their in cabin ticket. I am freaked out about putting them on a heavy diet before departure, but more that they may not allow them in cabin anymore! And all the documents over this months.... now I've read your comment, and it made me stress out more (but thank tou for posting, really!) thinking about the future return journey (luckily, in 3 or 5 years). What I noticed in the video of Taylor was that her dog is really small (while my cats are 9 kg each - Maine Coons), so I was assuming there will be no problem at all for her to take Rosie into cabin, and instead........ they let hem had her beloved pet handled by strangers and put into the hold!!!! I really envy her self control, but living in Japan since June I've already started to understand how it is over here for many things: zero flexibility, they don't matter about your feelings if are not exactly aligned with the "rules"... :( But again, sad for your loss, I can't even imagine how you felt about this.

I lived in mexico and some years ago i moved to france. It was crazy. I have a small dog (bigger than yours) and he was completely relaxed and knocked out wen we arrived to paris. I know that is a longer flight. But even, he stayed "relax" for 2 days. And after that he returned to his former self (crazy)
