Very cool, Hollie! Kudos for keeping your cool during that crazy trip even when things could have gone south! (SIM card) TIL that even in the Far East, you can walk into a 7-11 to get snacks! 😲 I had no idea they existed anywhere outside of their birthplace in the US. Now I read that two Japanese corporations acquired 70% of the parent company in 1991, so that Japan now has more 7-11 locations than anywhere in the world, including the US!

My wife is from Japan. I am a Japanese American from Hawaii and so English is my native language. My wife can understand American English, but she has trouble understanding other English speakers -- British, Scottish, Filipino, Indian, etc. Funny. I can understand everything except perhaps Scouse.
