Moving little ducklings, Adam’s famous Super Dogs and lots of fun with Monday’s pack

Every year around this time we look for ducklings each morning just in case there is a brood of them in the dog playground.
This morning there was a super cute brood of 9 little ducklings in the danger zone. Adam, Luke and the girls moved them into the dam paddock several times before the doggies arrived on the bus. And then each time we returned throughout the day, we did an extra roll call on the ducklings to make sure they were still in the safe zone.
Monday’s pack came ready to roll with lots of swimming, dock diving and tug of war! In the pool, the two Vizslas Sparty and Franky got together to take on Bandit with his pink pig ... it’s was very entertaining. Monday’s pack are awesome dock divers and nothing gets them going more than the lure pole!
The weather was a little all over the place so we squeezed in a bush walk too!
Adam also made his famous Super Dogs for lunch for everyone, which is a family recipe from his mum and they were delicious!

Seeing Joey following commands was a testimony to Luke's training and the fact that she is "teachable" - not a failure. Beautiful to see. Then I laughed out loud at Luna's pool waltz - so cute. Of course, Bandit and Sparty and the Pig Antics are so fun, I could put them on a loop and be entertained all day! Thank you again for your hard work.

What a beautiful start to the week and the month ❤❤❤ the duckling saga was lovely to watch, seeing Elle handling them so well to the awesome training that Tilly and Joey have and to checking they are all still safe before letting the dogs back in. That Mama duck is lucky to have someone as benevolent as Luke safeguarding her ducklings. We're having snow, sleet and ice here on the east coast of the US, so watching those beautiful dogs frolicking in the pool and living their best lives on the Farm was particularly satisfying today. Jane, there's a post from the summer where Luke was in the garage/spa area surrounded by about 35 dogs all barking at top volume. He called out "Quiet!" and every single one of them went silent...not even a "boof" of protest. I'll see if I can find it and paste the link for you...

Luke, your Kelpie should be rounding those little ducklings up, my Kelpie cross boy used to round up chickens on the farm where he was. Joey would be at the age to learn, she’d be gentle. She couldn’t have a better teacher than you, I would love to see what you’d do with her. She needs a job. My boy lets the wild birds at home walk under him & pick at the ground. Good lunch mate? Hi, Dawn... Joey came to the farm because she "failed" her herding job elsewhere. In her early days here, Aunty Sam said she nipped one of the horses on their nose so making an assumption that Joey should be herding a brood of 9 young ducklings is not accurate. Nor is it fair to Luke's inestimable Alpha Canine Trainer's understanding of her temperament and skills. She is doing her "job" of being an exceedingly well loved and well trained farm dog fantastically.

Yes she was meant to round up sheep, however as Darcy pointed out she failed her herding job and was labeled as 'untrainable', but as you can see here she's doing really well with her training and is just living life as a loved and energetic family pup and we love her to bits. @@gossamerabba Hi Darcy, thank you for reminding me about Joey’s fail I clean forgot 😏 The trouble is I just love Joey to bits & her progress since being with Luke. I also didn’t mean it as a challenge to Luke & his training, I truly think he is amazing & could train any dog due to the respect that the dogs have for him. I go back a number of times & rewatch Joey’s very first video to the farm, I loved her from the moment I saw her & thought what a lucky little girl she is. I said in one of my posts that watching her in the pool with those big ears is a crack up & honestly when I saw the ducklings I thought of her running along behind with those big ears - what a sight! I have a “failed” Kelpie cross, he does not like big animals (horses, sheep etc) however everyone was more than surprised when he took over looking after the hens & their chicks & protecting them from being attacked by the other farm dogs at the fosterer’s home, his “Kelpie” instinct didn’t kick in until he was about 14 months old. So I am so sorry I did not explain that in my previous post & apologise for any assumptions made on my part. And you are right Joey is a very much loved addition to the Evans family & is very well trained & as you pointed out also she has the best Alpha Canine Trainer. I did not mean to offend but thanks again for the reminder.

An image popped into my head of Joey running along behind the ducklings & I engaged my fingers before my brain & posted. Luke I love what you do & what you & Sam have achieved (I tell everyone about the farm videos). I’ll probably get into trouble for this but as much as I love all the dogs, Joey is my favourite & I look for her all the time & thank you for that heart warming video of Zara’s birthday sleepover. Joey standing up giving you cuddles is what my boy does to me, best feeling in the world. I do love your work. 🥰
