What is that manifold of vulnerable car brake pipes on the front right hand tank? They were not seen on the engine in the 70's. Hopefully they can be lost or concealed elsewhere on a rebuild.This is such an evocative engine from my adolescent "Tadpole" years and a major workhorse of the railway at that time.

Also why does it need three domes and the extra fitting behind the chimney?

I can't say as to what the pipework on the front of the tank is (although it looks like a lubracator) but the reason she has 3 domes is simply because she needs one sand dome for forward running and one for reverse with the steam dome in the middle. 3 domes is quite common here in the USA on locomotives that spend as much time going backwards as forwards need one at the front and one at the back (we don't use sand boxes btw only domes)

@@Basaljet two steam domes as per a lot of American locomotives. one is a sand dome I believe, the fitting behind the chimney is the steam outlet for the turbo which lights the cab interior…and a few other things. A rather nifty feature

@@FfestiniogWelshHighland thanks. The reason I was asking was I wanted to watch it on KZbin on the smart TV. The man I'm asking for doesn't have a laptop/tablet/phone etc and it would be more practical to use the smart TV to watch it instead of my laptop. Also the picture is bigger. A website isn't always practical. I notice the SVR and other heritage railways have live feeds on KZbin. Hence my question. Anyhow thanks.
