My gran had a saying, the gist of which was that the difference between living for the little moments and the grand ones is simple. There are bound to be millions of little ones, and only a handful of the grand. We all know the grand ones when they come along, so you don’t have to worry you’ll miss out on them. But true living is embracing all of the small moments. That's where you’re most likely to find yourself. I missed a lot when I was younger, because I was sure that I, the globe trekking, big moment seeking wanderer, had it right. I didn’t. So glad the two of you are living the small, truly extraordinary moments together, and sharing them here as well. Enjoy!

What lovely footage and thoughtful journey. We all need to go back to where we feel like ourselves again, away from the pressure. Those clay birds are absolutely beautiful.

Hi Beth just found you on You tube. I live in Carmarthenshire on a homestead. Lived in Wales for nearly 21 yrs from England. Absolutely love Wales. We have learnt to live around the seasons as we work a lot outside and embrace the seasons as they arrive. I used to live in Pembrokeshire too. It’s stunning as are all parts of Wales. Look forward to next video. Your cottage is amazing. Enjoy xx

Agree about living according to the seasons here. It’s an old fashioned detail I love. I’m in North Pembrokeshire on an old farm. I don’t know if you live close to the sea, but I’ve found that the shipping forecast is more reliable warning about the storms than the standard weather forecast. It’s handy to know if a storm force 10 is due and outdoor things can be gathered up safely in advance.

Thank you for sharing such beauty with us. As Alex sat looking out to the sea, it felt like a sailing ship from centuries ago might appear!

It's almost like I'm watching myself. We sold and moved this year in April. We are only 10 minutes away from Wales, and we are in a fairly rural location. We are still adjusting also. But we absolutely love it here. The peace and the beauty of the stillness. The wildlife. We are yet to experience our first winter, but for once in my life, im actually looking forward to it. Even as Autumn has now arrived, it evokes a totally different sensation in me. All the leaves are slowly turning into warm colours, and Im even looking forward to snowfall. I hope so. Apparently, we will get a lot. I'm so excited. I do find myself feeling isolated at times as well. My family is scattered all over. But, I keep myself busy with projects and crafts. It really helped. I also got burned out when we first arrived on top of Fibromyalgia. I had to learn to be kind to myself and rest until I had the strength to continue. You do learn a lot. Im glad I discovered your channel. Maybe I won't feel so alone now. I wish you all the happiness.

I just saw your video and I truly loved it 🥰 Your home is amazing and your Christmas tree was beautiful. I really enjoyed the way you appreciate simple things (I do too) and you a calming, peaceful way to see what life is like in Wales which I’ll likely never be able to visit. Thank you so much 😊

This was beautiful. I've moved from the U.S. to Ireland. My first winter was by the sea, but not isolated from people. This summer, we moved to the Wicklow mountains. I have forests now, and the isolation is just what I need to recover from burnout. I'm heading into my first autumn in the countryside, wondering how it will be, but ready to embrace it.

Hi Beth, new subscriber here! firstly thank you for sharing your journey and the beautiful moments and struggles you’ve shared.I’m so happy that you’ve realised that nature truly helps heal body and mind, as someone who has also had to face and battle demons we have had a similar experience over the last 6 years and despite the hard work renovating and the struggle to settle it’s been the best thing we’ve ever done! I so look forward to seeing how the cottage and garden develops and wish you love and strength in healing ❤️ps love the clay birds you’re very talented!

Welcome to Wales :) if you didn't know already, it rains a lot here and is grey a lot lol. My advice is to keep your home bright and cheery when it comes to decorating (grey walls massive no no) because the bright/light colours will help cheer you up and keep you sane during the winter months of doom. lol. You are both living the dream, I really wanted a home with land and middle of no where but sadly couldn't find any in my budget, instead found a beautiful home and huge garden not far from the Gower. but often visit Pembrokeshire to surf and there's a great women's group if you were interested! Drop me a message :) its a great way to meet local ppl for you! Pretty sure there's a few local hiking groups too! Also I think you're near solva and if so a cute little yoga studio she's great! xx

Thank you for this lovely video and sharing a little piece of your life. My husband's family (Wyvill, Wyville) immigrated from Wales many, many years ago. We always talk and dream about making a trip over there to experience his heritage. (Our bucket list dream vacation). Can't believe I stumbled upon this channel. I already love it!
