I have been to Budapest three times and LOVE the City and ALL it has to offer! Both mmy Grandparents were born in Hungary and came to America around 1910. The last time we were in Budapest was in 2016 and we had dinner with family that lives in Budapest, Budakeszi and Miskolc! GOD I LOVE Budapest! It IS a SAFE City and the people are very friendly also! You can have a lot of fun there and the Food is OUT OF THIS WORLD too!!

I moved to Budapest 2 years ago.... Lived in Canada for 55 years..... I have no regrets, mind you some of my situation was a little different. Nice to hear detailed information as on line.

Budapest is very different from the rest of the country, they think differently about lots of things and in my experience, they are a little entitled but I think this is true to every capital city. It was already expensive so of course they don't like the current prices but it isn't just because of the inflation. Viktor Orbán (and the Fidesz party) isn't perfect especially when we consider the taxes vs. salaries, but Hungary developed so much since he is in power. There is a KZbin channel (Borovi Bence) which makes videos about how cities looked like 10-12 years ago and how they look like right now. There are other channels which shows the new highways/roads around the country.

I find this interesting, because as an American the double taxation treaty that has yet to be agreed on makes banking and other transactions very difficult in Hungary right now. I also feel lhe seriously downplay the language difficulties. Maybe if you don’t ever leave within 10 minutes of the city centre But outside of that you’re much better off with German then English. And finally, the golden visa program hasn’t even come to effect yet. Still about two months away, so no one actually even completed that process yet. Bottom line, if you are American. There are definitely more questions you need to be asking.

Hi, I’m a 39 year old HU - US citizen. At the moment and for the next 5-6 months buying into HU real estate is better than any stocks,crypto investment. Because of the new GV program we expect a significantly large turnover.
