i wish it was as simple as just packing your bags and going. but you’ve gotta put work in. it’s a decision you make months or even years in advance. i’ve made that decision and haven’t told anyone. i’m preparing to get an online degree and i’m saving money to go a uni in japan. But once you really clear your head and decide to actually go through with it, it’s.. liberating.

What I realise when watching a lot of these Moving to Japan videos, is that I messed up not going to university. I think it gave a lot of people a good advantage (albeit maybe a small one, as you're also a foreigner) as you have the benefit of a degree. Whereas people like myself who went straight into work, don't really have any educational triumphs to bring to the table.

If you’re applying for an English teaching job then they have made it important to hold a University degree. But that doesn’t mean it is impossible. If you hold a teaching license that’s something else and I believe it can be required online nowadays. It depends on your work/skill if you’re going into another field other than English teaching. I’ve never used my degree for my visa it’s irrelevant but I am in the entertainment field.

Like I don't know what I was thinking, throughout all of secondary school I've just dreamt of going to Japan. I finished school in 2016 and started travelling and quite a bit, however I still put Japan as some place far away. Now with covid and the limiting of travel, I'm like baffled how I never just WENT to Japan as soon as I finished school. I'm still young I guess, just turned 24 but I need to make it my mission to go there next!
@lauraribeiroTV
@lauraribeiroTV 2 жыл бұрын
As soon as you can, just book it! Don't think about the distance of travel. I really miss visiting new places too, I had the same thoughts like I want to visit Australia and New Zealand, but always considered them too far places - but i'm so close to them now! (but also covid... sigh)

Wow, amazing. I’m from London too I’m 16 I just started college doing hair and makeup I really wanna move to Japan once I’m older but I’m struggling to believe that I’ll ever make it there. I don’t even know what I’m doing with my life, but if I got an opportunity that I could live in Japan and be a makeup artist and hair stylist or even a model, since I did wanna be a model at one point but just didn’t think I was good enough but if I got that choice ugh I would get up and go straight away! This video has really motivated me and exited me I just hope one day something amazing as this can happen to Me too❤️🙏🏽

You’re 16! You don’t have to have life figured out yet or ever feel like you have ‘settle’ in something if you’re not happy. The best thing about life is that we can keep on trying to figure out what it is that brings us joy ✨ if you have a uk passport you could come on a working holiday, model and explore many other things! Good luck 🙏🏼

I think it depends how you see it. If your dream is to truly come and experience living in Japan, whatever uncomfortable situations come your way, you'll find a way to get around it. And if after then, it is too bureaucratic for you, then at least you know that you gave it a shot instead of being in the 'what if' zone. That's just how I think! ^__^

@@lauraribeiroTV Well I think you can live within your world inside Japan and in that point I think you're right but I know people that had a lot of problems to find a foreigner-friendly place to live. I still think Tokyo is the best place to live in the world and what would make me happy not only as a person but as a computer engineer. I have N3 JLPT am looking for N1. I turned off from Japan when I realized I couldnt accomplish the goal of living in Japan. I think I will need to experience Tokyo for myself after the pandemic situation and spend a month there. I love Japan since a very young age I think it completes my values and who I am very well. I am not even an anime person ahaha

I wouldn’t be able to say, but for modeling it’s not needed. I think for English teaching the uni degree shows you’re fluent in English. But it’s not always the case you could find jobs. Give it a try and if your country does working holiday visa it’s a good way to figure it out ! All the best

Not necessarily true. There are jobs that don't require you to be fluent in Japanese, or some don't require you to speak it at all. (English teacher, IT...) But since you want to live there, it wouldn't be wrong to know the language right. At least the basics. And the fluency can be much easier acquired when you live there. And yes it is scary to move to a foreign country by yourself, but don't let it stop you. You got this.

If you want to get away from everything, it is not a good idea. Don't think your problems will be solved by going to a different country. However, no, it is not impossible to live and work in Japan without a degree. It just makes it harder. What I have heard however and doesn't necessarily require you to speak fluent Japanese would be an IT job. And besides that, having a bachelors degree at least makes it a bit easier too. And if you really want to move to Japan, don't you think you should try to learn at least a bit Japanese?
