what you said about latinos made my eyes water because it’s so goddamn true :’) i’m venezuelan and there really is a warmth to latin american people that i miss deeply whenever i’m not around it. i moved from miami to boston and it’s been ruffff whenever i come across a latin american person i’m immediately trying to extend my interaction with them for as long as possible lolol

I normally never comment but Kianna you dont realize how much i i needed this video. I moved to montreal five months ago and I’ve been struggling to find my place, find an apartment, adapt to the weather and the people. I come from a hot and very welcoming country so whenever someone is nice to me here it just makes my day. And seeing that i am not the only one struggling makes me feel better and less alone. Love you and love your videos 💕💕

Trust, trust, trust the process. I moved to NYC from Atlanta 9 years ago and it was so lonely those first few months but I absolutely LOVE this city now. Have patience with yourself, be kind to yourself, celebrate yourself. You're attempting to conquer a massive city on your own which is dope as hell within itself so celebrate that courage! Celebrate that determination to not quit! Celebrate how you're giving yourself the space to evolve and grow! The city will get less lonely as you settle in and in the meantime: Cafe Erzulie and House of Yes in Brooklyn/PHD Lounge in Manhattan are all dope spots to dance your problems away. Keep your head up lovely, you're literally doing amazing!! ♥

i remember hearing that being a lil miserable your first month in NYC is like a right of passage, and that finding a community/friends to combat the loneliness that comes with living in a big city is like half the struggle (seems like you got the friend part figuered out ), so in time i imagine you'll settle in just fine👍👍🥰🥰

I completely relate to how you feel about your apartment Kianna, I moved from where I grew up to a completely different continent for school, my first one month was alright and chill cause I stayed in an Airbnb that was fully furnished, then I had to move out a month later, out of desperation I found this one room which at first I thought was a good choice cause it had its private bathroom until I moved in properly and started cleaning the room. I also cried to my parents on how frustrated I felt from trying to settle into school a foreign culture and then an old unfurnished house (emphasis on the OLD). Hopefully it'll get better for you, I'm still praying for mine.

i know new york is tough, it teaches you to have very thick skin lol but as for the rug go with cool tones of any color. a cool orange will make the blue pop. you probably want to stick to something that’s just a solid color so as to not clash with the grey floors. if not solid, stripes that mimic the width of the floor panels would complement them. probably stay away from cool brown, it would be too drab.

trust me Kiana its a process! keep saying its a process!! after visiting nyc and Los Angeles this past week (i'm from London) I definitely underestimated how much more challenging but also rewarding it must be to persevere in a city like nyc. im from London and I absolutely love it and have always sworn that I could only ever live in London or New York. but after flying straight form New York to la, I changed my mind lol. I love New York and it is absolutely a dream, however, it is not for the weak lmao. at least in LA the sun is calling you to wake up and get your day running, whereas in nyc and London I will say there is a lot more of a requirement from you to push regardless of what your body and surroundings is telling you, because that grey sky WILL tell you to go back to bed lol. im used to it as I do live in a country known for grey skies and rain, but all I will say Kianna is its nyc for a reason, sure its challenging and sometimes overwhelming, but those big cities MAKE u in the best way. I can't wait for the day I can to a sunnier place but I am so proud to be from the city of London, and for that, I truly pray nyc gives you everything you need during your stay

I lived in nyc for 3 months and I was not messing with it lol but i went to dinner with nyu students and they dair first 1-6 months were miserable just from adjusting to walking everywhere, everything is sort of dingy by literally the rest of the country standard and you don't have as much privacy but now looking back i sorta miss it and definitely want to go back.
