I love Tricia's handy work. She has an answer for all things storage some of which I've copied. I like the cable bag so may have to get my sewing machine out. I must admit I use a lot of kitchen roll , tea towels or carrier bags to jam into spaces to stop rattling. All things I'm going to use. I keep a pair of rubber gloves in the cassette toilet area as there's that one occasion (in this country) where things are a little less hygienic. I'm loving these parking places. Do we have anything like them here. Oh now! Roquefort. Yum! Looking forward to that episode. We recently went for a wine and cheese experience where they served a variety of local honeys with the cheeses. Delicious ! Happy travels

Hi Jane, Tricia is very crafty with things as you could probably tell. But I think that stuffing the odd bag into empty spaces works equally well. Cheese and honey sounds like an interesting combination 🤔. Next episode is all about cheese 🧀 😋

I use Ducksback circular bags for the electrical cable and coil it up like a sailor. It fits very neatly. I also cut the 25m of cable into two pieces 10m and 15m and fitted connector pieces to both and use the appropriate length to the electricity point. If it is further away plug the cables together. Anyway love your trip videos and hope to be down that way later on in the year.

Thanks Gordon would never have thought of that. We are again thinking about a reel because of the cable getting tangled.

Dear Mike and Tricia, your latest video brought so many good memories of our trip last year where we hired a AutoRoller 747 from Lux Motorhomes, Bathgate for two weeks to go to Burghley Horse trails late year. As a child and having been brought up for years doing caravan holidays it has always been a dream to go to Burghley and stay on the estate for the week of the horse trial. Dream for filled last year. So I fully understand your check list of does before you get ready to drive off. But it has to be said that from watching Bob Earnshaw and your good blogs it made it all sweeter that we did not look total numpties. As from watching you great videos and others we knew before hand what to do even to the point of looking at videos of the AutoRoller 747 and knew things about it even before we moved a wheel. We had a great two weeks driving down to Stamford in small distances and campsites with the van six days on the Trials Campsite and they back up in manageable drives back up to Scotland. Keep up the great work and so happy and look forward to see every one of your videos when they come out. Who would have thought you would have had snow and sunshine in the one trip. Big Hugs Gordon.

Hi Tricia and Mike, I like the toilet emptying point, no chance of splashing yourself with the blue liquid. It's no wonder nobody said anything to you two rebellious Scots flaunting the dogs on a lead sign. They probably didn't want to deal with Tricia, 😂😂😂😂 I know I wouldn't like a taste of her right hook. Keep up the organised work, looking forward to the next installment.

Excellent video. One benefit of the electric cable reel is that it stops the cable from becoming twisted and difficult to roll it up.

I noticed you mention diswashing liquid in your windscreen washing. I have been told to avoid dishwashing liquid when washing a car and or windscreen. Apparently, dishwashing liquids can have salt as one of their ingredients because salt is a good cleaner. Now, you don't want salt residue building up in chassis rails and nooks and crannies. 😮

@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot7 ай бұрын
We did 10 weeks but to be honest maybe 7 or 8 would be about right. The camping car parks that we have shown on this series have been great because they have barriers and you need a card to get in and out. Best to have a visible sign of security like a stoplock on the steering wheel. And take any valuables with you when you go out. We actually felt safe for the whole ten weeks.

Tricia, thank you for your ideas in how to reduce rattling. I know the foam came from hobby craft, but what is it actually called. Really need some of this as I've been using tea towels and other cloths, but end up using them, then they are no longer clean or dry to go back as their job of rattle prevention. Thanks in advance. Love your films. ❤

If you leave the bed made up. How easy is it to shut off/turn on the gas? I had a Swift 144 and there was a rear door access to gas bottle. Not sure why Swift removed this feature.
@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot3 ай бұрын
It would be pretty awkward to switch off the gas with the bed made up and agree that a rear door access would have made a lot of sense. We have since changed to an underslung gas tank and reclaimed that gas locker as storage space.

I think people just aren’t brave enough to say something if you have your dog off the lead. I think it’s more respectful to keep to the signs and make sure my dog is on the lead when signs ask me too. Xx
@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot7 ай бұрын
I think that people don't bother if you have a friendly well behaved dog. The signs are there unfortunately because some owners with untrained, disobedient dogs lack a brain.

I took a class group out for a trip and a lovely lady was walking her mid sized dog on a lead, unfortunately even on a lead and controlled her dog jumped up on a girl and took a bite out of her leg making holes in her tracksuit bottoms. The girl had to go to hospital for a tetanus injection. The lady was horrified and said her dog was usually always so friendly and the pupil had dogs herself and had just been walking normally not making any sudden movements. So unexpected things can happen unfortunately.
