If you are a foreigner and are thinking of moving to the Philippines, should you learn Tagalog or just wing it with English? There is no real need to learn Tagalog as most Filipinos can speak English, but it could improve your quality of life. I found that out when I learned languages in foreign countries previously.
Being able to hold a conversation in any local language really makes life easier and eventually you will become more and more comfortable with it. In this video, I will show you a book that I recently purchased and why the book could be a good investment in yourself and your life in the Philippines.

I’m a Pilipino but I think our language is difficult. As a local easy for me to speak it but it’s hard writing or typing it. For example ‘in need’ is ‘nangangailangan’ in Tagalog. That’s why when I exchange messages with my family especially with my kids, it’s 90% English.

Well done, mate. Language learning is super fun - enjoy the process itself, don't see it as a chore but as a hobby, be patient and consistent, and you'll inevitably make good progress. Once your level is high enough, make sure to listen to the language as much as you can (podcasts, youtube vids, etc.). Listening is key.

I know very few words but it's completely unnecessary to learn here. I admire people that can speak multiple languages but it's above my level or desire at 55 years old. Where Im at most speak English that I deal with except my gf mother whitch im glad she doesn't.😂

I get it. It's not for everyone but I kinda like learning a new language even at my young age of 57 😁. It's not easy of course but it gets easier with familiarity. You're right of course, it's not necessary.
