I got here on Friday, took a ferry from Cebu to Dumaguete with my 2 dogs and I also am shipping all the important things in extra-large balikbayan boxes, I used LBC for that. I do have to say that I used air animal and spent 3 hours on the phone with BAI to get my dogs cleared for import. I would never leave my dogs! You are right packing up and moving to the other side of the world is not for the faint hearted. Like you, I have no intention of ever going back to the USA. I used onward ticket $16 to show proof to the airlines that I was leaving the Philippines, they will ask, and yes onward ticket works. I bought a backup cell phone for my Philippine sim and also a backup laptop. They are expensive here. I also got a Tello sim card for the one-time codes. It will only work on wi fi here but you will get your codes and it is only $6 a month. I have been here less than a week and I think the most important thing you can bring is your patience. Things don't move at the same speed here.

Ur last video I watch from u , u mentioned about poverty, I agree that life is hard there. But u see if there is a job Filipino will work, however in this country u.s.a , there are job but people choose to be homeless. There are about 250,000 or more homeless here in California, and the crime ? Goodness gracious!

Thank you for the great information! For shipping, how did you know where and when to ship your boxes to? Or, did you have them ready, and once you found a place, you had them shipped to that address?
@GallivantingKendall3 ай бұрын
@KimHeuman UMAC didn't actually ship everything until after I got on the plane. If I remember correctly, they came and got the majority of my boxes about a month before I left. I had to stay in a couple of hotels for about 5 weeks while I finished the requirements for my dog. During that time, I discovered I had several boxes that I wasn't going to be able to take on the plane as I'd planned. The manager was so nice, he drove all the way out to Hollywood to pick up one last box the day before my flight. Thank you, Nilo, of UMAC in Carson. He told me he could arrange for the warehouse in Manila to hold my boxes for about two weeks. So, I was kinda under the gun to find a place shortly after I arrived. It still took about 3 months for me to get my shipment. They send shipments on a cargo ship. Anyway, I called Nilo as soon as I found a place and, because it took so long, there was no need to hold my boxes in Manila. Once they arrived in Manila, they were forwarded here to Cebu.

@@GallivantingKendall Thanks for letting me know. This is also really helpful--when to arrange, how long it takes, etc. That's invaluable. Thank you! I also lived in LA and worked in entertainment (not as an actor but corporate marketing). Thanks again! I like all your videos.
