Similar to the comments below. Put yourself out there and always be yourself. Get an idea of who's in the room and get involved in social events that are hosted in an area near you. Whether it's in church, local community park events, and different events that involves socializing and perhaps grabbing a bite to eat. I stay to myself now but when I knew a lot of people it started from people that know other people.

These are all great suggestions! I will also say that, unfortunately, people gravitate more towards those who have a certain physical appearance & possess certain material items (clothes, shoes, cars, homes)…. These things tend to attract more people that are willing to be a “good friend”, at least early on… the true test of good/ great friends is staying power, especially during down times. When I was in my late teens and all throughout my 20’s, people always gravitated toward me even though I was anti-social (lol). They liked my look (face, hair & outfits) & my 1st car. Then, over the yrs, after losing material things & not worrying as much about my looks, I stopped caring about those things & gravitating more toward spiritual & mental well-being… but I lost all those “friends” along the way… the 6 total that are left (scattered among various states) were the genuine ones… the rest only wanted to be around for other reasons. Just sharing personal experience & life observations
