For those pictures , i definitely recommend getting a photo book so they can all stay in one place and undamaged. Also looking into a digital picture frame that cycles through all the photos and you can look at them more often.

hey ya! as someone who dyi's their apartments regularly, you can totally patch the wall for a cheap price! Anchors (the nails you're referencing after drilling holes) definitely tear walls up if not removed properly, but you could patch it up with layers of drywall spackle/joint compound. I would put a layer on, trying to fill in the hole as much as possible and smooth it over the cracks on the wall, wait for it to dry, and then sand it with a 220 grit sanding block or higher to make it as flat as the original wall as possible. If you're up to it, you can even paint that patched area by color matching the original wall color. I've done this process lots and have always gotten my security deposit back! Hope this helps (I'm not a professional though!)
