I work at a shelter for unhoused women, and we are constantly getting donated bags filled with items that are clearly from someone's junk drawer! Please do not be that person! Unhoused people deserve good quality clothes and food.
@DoriterEater2 жыл бұрын
There are more programs popping up to recycle virtually anything for free, and they do the work for you. The donation thing generally causes so many problems, so much of the damaged goods are sent to other countries and absolutely destroying their environment!

Oh man I'm the opposite. When my husband isn't home I use that opportunity to deep clean since he's not around messing up areas faster than I can clean them. I double mop floors, scrub baseboards, clean walls and doorframes, etc. It's so nice to be able to get it all done at once and I can open windows and play music while I clean. It's my me time.

I had a box/packaging collection when I moved (in such a similar situation also) recently and I used all of it to pack my home up. I ended up needing more boxes/materials than I thought towards the end. Packing small trinkets in the small boxes and putting those boxes together was exactly what I did also! Works great!

meg regarding the candles going black around the edges, my Mum just grabs a tissue and wipes it off and it comes off so cleanly! maybe wet another one and just get rid of the remaining residue if needed!! It's from the flame touching the edges as you tilt it to light it!! totally normal and such an easy fix

Hey I own a candle business! Just some tips on the black soot around the candles. That can be either user or maker error. As the burner, make sure you trim your wicks to 1/4" before every burn, and only burn for up to 4 hours, and leave at least 2 hours between burns. Sometimes candles are overwicked as well, if a candle is burning too hot and you're trimming it and being very careful, it may be something the Chandler needs to do more testing on and try a smaller wick

To prevent soot on the side of the candle jars, just trim the wick after every use!
@DoriterEater2 жыл бұрын
Wick Dippers prevent smoke when extinguishing the flame and that's probably causing a lot of the soot on the jar. If I used candles regularly I'd definitely invest in a wick trimmer and dipper set lol.

If you trim your candle wicks each time before lighting (cutting off a lot of the burnt wick), you won’t get the black stains on the candle :)
