I can't believe the day finally came and we got the keys to our new home! I am so excited to be able to fully start this journey now and can't wait to share it with you! 💕

Ahhh, I felt your excitement! I got my first place, a bungalow, 2 years ago this coming July. Although I don’t own it, it’s ‘my first’ home on my own, & as i’m disabled it just meant SO much to me. Sadly, I’m yet to move in full time, because I’m waiting for my kitchen & bathroom to be fully adapted (essentially they’re pulling the entire rooms out & renovating them to my needs). Due to Covid this process has just taken so long. It’s not safe for me to live there at the moment, I can’t get flooring down until adaptions / renovations have happened as my kitchen / dining / living room are all open plan & man.. flooring is NOT cheap! I don’t want to buy it & have burly builders traipsing stuff through my lovely new carpets, gives me heart palpitations at the thought lol. My mum very suddenly passed away 16wks ago, in one sense I’m glad I was still residing with my parents while waiting for my place to be done, so I could spend that time with her & help Dad, but I just want to get in now & call it my own. If I have any advice… don’t go crazy on buying everything all at once! I know it sounds a bit daft & you’re grown adults, but trust me.. excitement seriously leads you into trouble 😂 Use any second hand furniture you have for now, or your stuff from the flat, & you can just upgrade as & when! It’s what I’ve been doing at my place & my goodness it’s made the world of difference financially ! Oh & btw, you wanted suggestions for your living room - mine is also odd shaped! I *highly* recommend in the future (as I know you’re getting Adam’s parents sofa etc at the mo, which will be perfect!) perhaps looking at a corner sofa, it’ll keep the room nice & open, you & Adam have lots of room to curl up as well as guests, & they have some really nice ones now to suit all budgets & room sizes. In a few years time I’ll likely get a corner sofa myself, but I bought a 3 piece suite on Facebook market place for £65 from £100, free delivery, had it professionally cleaned for £70 & my occupational therapist heightened my big sofa for me - oh my god Trina it looks brand new! I can easily sell it on for £150+! And it’ll do me a turn for a good few years. I have a round dining table too & love it! Fits in my little space perfectly. I’m SO happy for you. Enjoy all of it.
