I’ve watched your video several times! It has helped. I to am moving from NJ to Florida! My husband is disabled so I am doing everything myself. I am panicking because I only have two days left and I have so much to do. I haven’t started garage yet and it’s full. I think most of that will be thrown away. You are so organized! Thank you!😊

We are preparing for a move from IN to The Carolina’s. Not sure where we are going to end up. Working from home makes a move like this possible. My family is in NJ so we will stay there until we find our new home. Fun to see another ex-Jersey on here. We have decided to move over a year ago and that causes me so much stress not knowing what to pack or get rid of since we are not moving until April. Seeing the state of your house during the move makes me feel comfortable knowing my home looks the same. Knowing it’s doable helps a lot.

Moving is definitely a stressful and overwhelming process. Filming it for me, helped keep me focused and accountable to get it done since it is so easy to procrastinate! Good luck with you move and everything along the way. The house will be chaos during the packing process. I find its best to just embrace it and give yourself some grace. Good luck!

Hi, So glad I’ve “met” you and been able to watch your packing videos. You’re an inspiration. I too am leaving NJ but going down to Florida. It’s been a life long dream and the pandemic convinced me not to wait any longer. I have a couple of months lead time but will start following your recommendations ASAP. Best wishes for your future.

Wow, thank you for video 2.... I am just one under-resourced person embarking on OR to NV ! Question: Did you actually own all of those matching sized storage bins? And noticed you didn't use garment boxes for all of your hanging clothes. Was the rationale better fit for the PODS....? 2) what was the "fireplace TV mantle" thing that you mentioned..... 3) I would love any tips on how you organized your boxes and "stuff" for each PODS. i.e. the staging of the stuff itself! Than you for making these!

My gosh, so sorry for the late reply!! I am so glad you enjoyed the video and GOOD LUCK on your upcoming move! 1) All of the plastic storage bins we already owned and have collected over the years to haul our crazy amount of stuff we like to store. Most of them were holding belongings in our Attic and Basement. 2) The fireplace TV mantle, was what we kept our TV on in the living room. My husband always wanted a Fireplace and since this house didn't have one, we purchased a TV Stand with an electric heater that resembled a fireplace on it. I will try to find the one we had and link it below. 3) You are correct about the garment boxes. I have used them in the past and they are GREAT if your doing a local move and space isn't a huge issue on your moving truck but they do take up ALOT of extra room and I wanted to maximize packing the PODS so I chose not to use them. 4) As far as organizing our stuff into the PODS well we had a great plan that all went right out the window once we started packing LOL. My advise is, if your going to be packing more than 1 PODS, plan out the items, furniture, clothes, etc you are going to need accordingly to how the PODS are being delivered. For example I packed a bunch of kitchen stuff, toys for my daughter, a mattress and our couch in the POD that was going to be delivered first so we can set up some of the things we would need right away. While packing I picked the two rooms in our house we used the least which was our guest bedroom and the formal living room, this way the main rooms in our house that we used the most like our bedrooms, kitchen and family room stayed relatively clear. It wasn't perfect but worked out the best for us. Hope this info helps! Good luck with your upcoming move!! When did you take photos for putting it up on the market? What should you do first, pack and then take photos or...???
@WittyHarperDIY4 ай бұрын
You always want to declutter and de-personalize first, before taking your professional photos. A great agent should be able to walk you through that! I always walk my client through all the steps to prepare to go on the market, the work starts weeks in advance. Good luck!!

We moved from Southern GA last year to MI. I did not like living in the south! The heat, pollen, fire ants, and not nice people were the problem.
@WittyHarperDIY2 жыл бұрын
Well I am not loving the pollen, the fire ants or the heat either! But I will say I have found people to be overall really nice! Then again, I am from NJ so.... 😂
@karenlockhart7902 жыл бұрын
@@WittyHarperDIY just be careful the pollen doesn't get in your eyes, that crap gave me double eye infections and I had to go to the eye doctor, they had to drain my eyelid with a needle, the pain was equal to the meds wearing off after a C-section...
