Re £600k houses, completely agree. Wanting to upsize in Gloucestershire, suitable properties are on at £800k plus and they’re just not worth it, some needing updating too. Virtually all my RM favourites have had price reductions but are still for sale. I’m not paying those amounts.

House near us sold for £200k in November 2020, up for sale for second time for £270k, reduced from £300k, previous sale fell through as mortgage survey down valued, no one's paying that amount for the place, greed, estate agents over value, just madness

The neighbour behind me has 10 solar panels on his roof. He said they were old and generated little electricity. He told me they make it harder to sell the property. I asked why? He said they had been installed under a 25 year contract. The buyer would have to take on the contract. He had a new gas combi boiler installed last week.

Great channel. We are relocating to UK (Kent) with 850k budget and are shocked by the level of overvaluation, especially of stuff needing full renovation, and both agents and vendors unwillingness to be realistic given the market and the doubling often tripling of renovation costs (last 10yr) All properties we have offered on (and been refused) remain on market. Some for over a year. We use plumbplot to access, visualise and analyse land registry data and the downward trend is obvious. Adjusted for inflation prices have dropped to 2003 levels, nominals are down to 2021 levels post the 2022 peak. The most shocking stat (Kent) is new house sales, numbers have declined to record lows despite relentless house building in the county. When do you think realism will set in? We are following your advice - not to just overpay.

You describe me their. I’m not buying for investment or £££ in bricks and mortar. I’m buying ( and I AM yay thanks Charlie!) a HOME and intend to be there indefinitely. To settle and outside of marriage never pay rent again. I also paid in full. No debt. I’m an older person! Again, security. I went for a house that didn’t need major work btw. I came close and now I’m relieved I didn’t. It’s not just the house it’s the village, the community etc. A lot to think about!

Fix Housing Fix Everything is great. Very succinct. Very valid in a number of ways. We have a Economy where housing underpins a feeling of wealth. Without a roof over my head, it must be tough to get up and go to work. Sleeping on a sofa is not a great step up either.

I would much prefer that the MP were Torsten Bell, but I guess it's trust me Nige. My answer to everything is LVT and government housing stock. I like right 2 buy but to shed aging stock that are getting more expensive to maintain and keep on building, the government have to house some and not owning the assets those people are living in is way more expensive

We want to go from a 4 bed detached to a 5 bed detached but with the interest rates, inflation etc we have decided to stay put and not over stretch ourselves. It's more of a want than a need overall. We can make do where we are.

probably a wise move - question: if there was no stamp duty would that change your mind?
@LoundsifyКүн бұрын
Charlie if stamp duty was abolished it would be replaced with a property tax like in the US, but hopefully that would also would also replace council tax!

More X rated and C rated content again. Xmas of course. Charlie comes to us with a nativity scene only missing the Donkey and a cradle. Yes homelessness still important after 2000 years. 3 wise men weren't available but not needed when we have "Stig". Alex Groundwater will of course be around later this evening.

I think prices should drop at 35-45%, even run houses are so over valued with all the costs involved. if people want good money than make sure your property is good enough to move into

Little advice. Public speaking/TV, use the nemonic CLAP C - Clear L - Loud A - Assertive P - Pauses Speak clearly, at a tone and volume heard but not overbearing, believe with what you say so you come across as assertive confidence, but take a breath and pause between receiving a question and answering with slight pauses between sentences Best of luck Charlie, you have got this as we believe in you and why we are followers!

In conversation and writing I would agree. It's an advert or slogan so it goes Red top. Newspaper headlines and glances have to grab instant attention. Not trying to contradict you, only explain. Hope you don't mind.
