*My yard consists of roughly 3.5 acres of "mowable" area with several small hills **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend and valleys and tree-beds scattered throughout. Not only did the mower do a great job, but at the end of cutting the entire lawn, I STILL had 35% left on the battery.*

This is probably the best video with down to earth information on cutting blades. The use of two blades stacked with an adapter for increased performance is not new. Back when Jacobson was still in business they offered a disk with four blades that were mounted individually ninety degrees apart. The machine worked like a dream. The individual blades could be loosened and just turned over for a fresh edge. So you could just keep on mowing. Good day and stay mowing grass and leaves. VF

Dixie chopper pioneered the x blades an made adapters just like that. I still have some. I use toro blades on 52 in scags in the spring because of the shorter sail, an scag blades with the longer sail when it's dry. Have also had good luck with 3 in wide gators in the fall.

Randy, this is an excellent video! Very helpful for people with different machines. Mix it up, different blades for different decks. I’ll have to purchase the highlight shirt tail blade for my 48” stander x aerocore. I’m in northern Illinois andcalso deal with the dew covered grass till mid morning. I run gator g6’s on our exmark lazer z hp (52”). I cant find much information on the type of deck it has. The hp version of the laxer z wasn’t as popular, although it’s been bullet proof for close to 20 years. I may try the hi lift shirt tail on the exmark too. Anyway, great video that applies to every name of mower. I put this one up with your leaf bag made to fit on the grass gobbler, or as I call it the “bagaltor”. I’ve made 2 for myself and a couple for some buddies.
@CountrysideStrong5 жыл бұрын
If the Exmark deck is that old it's prob the TriVantage deck. Hated that deck. The Ultra Cut deck is their best deck ever. It's the same as Toros turbo force deck.

Thanks again for putting out very informative info. Also I decided to replace the factory Toro zmaster 4000 52in blades out for new 18in high lift short tails with 5/8 center hole only to find out it works with the 36 grandstand but 4000 zmaster comes with a bigger center hole that has a adapter reducer fitting to a smaller bolt. I think it's a 15/16 center hole.(hoping it's the rt hike size where I just ordered it online) Ask my local dealer and was told that they are going with that setup blades on newer exmark's and Toro's. suck now gotta get 2 different center hole blades

Man, it really sucks sometimes how nothing can just be simple, you know? The more I learn, the more I sometimes wish I was still ignorant enough to just live life. Now I'm under the impression that you gotta have at least 2-3 different blade setups for your mower depending on the season, and god forbid you have multiple different mower setups (IE discharge vs bagger vs mulcher) cuz then you gotta have a blade set per mower setup per season. _points finger gun at own head_

Whenever I run the Gator G6 blades,...they not only make the clippings smaller,...but they throw the clippings noticeably further than the stock high lifts.
@CountrysideStrong3 жыл бұрын
I've never heard of a mulching blade throwing grass further than a high lift. I'd like to see some video of that
@bmlandmanagementco49813 жыл бұрын
@@CountrysideStrong I hear you on that, as most people don’t believe it, lol. I normally make two perimeter passes to keep the clippings from being thrown through the fences and into the roads or landscaping areas when I’m running the hi-lifts. When running the G6’s,...I have to make three passes. The G6’s are considered hi-lift blades,...but with mulching qualities. That’s why they throw the clippings like they do. From what I’ve discovered,...the G3’s are true mulching blades. They are a wavy blade that has a lower lift with the Gator teeth added. You’d never know that from looking at their website because their photos are all mixed up of what each blade model actually looks like. I discovered this from a conversation that I had on Lawn Site. When i get a chance, I’ll reach out and send a video to you.
@CountrysideStrong3 жыл бұрын
@@bmlandmanagementco4981 yeah I have them all sitting right on my bench and I've run them all over the years I know the difference between them and there is a big difference but I would never consider a G3 a G5 or a G6 a high lift blade the teeth do come up a little higher and the end Wing is a little higher but it's still not even close to a highlift blade
@bmlandmanagementco49813 жыл бұрын
@@CountrysideStrong I hear what you’re saying. I thought the same thing about them being a mulching blade and not throwing the clippings that far. They throw the clippings further on two of the three mowers that I have vs. the hi-lifts blades. I can’t remember exactly how they were on the third mower, as I only used that mower a couple of times before I took the deck off. Also,...I think when I set my G6’s beside my stock blades,...the lifts/tails are about the same height and angle. I’d have to check to be for sure.
