Nice idea, I think I will build one to pull behind one of my old lawn tractors for the Zoysia.

i always wondered why there isn't 30" reel mower or wider. I think 3 of them is too much for manual push tho
@DanDelventhal Жыл бұрын
I wondered the same and the CEO of American Lawn Mower said 20" was an engineering feat. So I made the kit. It is difficult to do three at a time in thick grass!
@DanDelventhal Жыл бұрын
Worrh noting that the kit also works as a double. Easier than 3

IF YOU HAVE A LAWN TRACTOR 42 INCH CUT WITH AN ATTACHMENT TO PUT REEL MOWER ON BOTH SIDES OF THE LAWN TRACTOR YOU WOULD ADD 40 INCHES TO YOUR LAWN TRACTOR SAVE TIME AND GAS

How many can I gang together like this? I want to see if I can mow my entire yard in one pass 😂

Three : )

Carbon credits... what a fool
@DanDelventhal3 жыл бұрын
I have heard carbon offsets are better than buying carbon credits to help reduce your footprint. I understand Bill Gates spends about $7,000,000 annually to do just that. He needs to actually reduce his footprint rather than simply balance it. Now there is a fool for you. But why do you suggest that of me Dennis?

If you have thick turf grass, the effort required to push a reel mower is proportional to the cutting width. I had one of these Scotts reel mowers, and it worked fine at the beginning of the season, but in the peak of the growing season, Bermuda is too much for one. There's NO way someone could push 3 of these through healthy Bermuda. I like reel mowers, but they have their limitations.
@DanDelventhal7 ай бұрын
Good point! Challenges with reel mowers are that you need to mow more often to avoid overgrowth slow down and they don't mulch leaves. That's why I use commercial electric mowers from Mean Green in our eco lawn care practice.

YOU GOT 6 WHEELS TO PUSH IF COMPANY COULD MAKE 40 INCH REEL MOWER YOU COULD GET RID OFALOT OF WHEELS AND LESS FRICTION EASIER TO PUSH
@DanDelventhal Жыл бұрын
Yes Indeed! It was only after a call to American Lawnmower (Scotts OEM) CEO, Bob, a decade ago, to learn they drew the line at 20 inches, so we made the gang kit. Thanks!

You do realize that the manufacturing of solar panels are not even close to being green... I guess whatever you have to do to kid yourself into thinking your helping stay green...

You think the footprint of making panels is worse than what they save over their useful lives? That's discouraging

@@DanDelventhalsolar and wind are made from toxic materials and rare earth elements found only in beautiful nature which has to get destroyed in big ugly earthen scars seen from space, to make enough electric cars for just the united states every major mountain range in europe asia and america has to be wiped outto collect enough of these toxic & rare earth minerals actually is if you have seen the mining for these. adv china has a channel and they cover it solar just got a boost to 7.5% efficientcy. up 2.5% from the 1970's solar panels. most solar and wind farms are abandoned after the government subsidy is collected right up til they start breaking down and then all the profit is gone trying to maintain them. monstrosities that don't last even 50% of the life of fossil fuelers. i'm not knocking your efforts or the green...but the worst 'green' energy is the one being promoted when hydro electric clearly dominates fossil fuels, solar and wind turbines combined at over 70 efficiency and carbon reduction, plus helps more plants and trees grow removing even more carbon pollution and from the air pumping more oxygen into the air, something solar and wind CAN'T do even as green houses. meanwhile the hoover dam and tennesse river valley authority are still operating vastly profitable hydroelectric to this day, built back in the 1930's. that nevada solar farm didn't last 10 years and now it's a major hazardous waste in the desert

@@DanDelventhalit is a fact, unfortunately. At least for industrial size solar farms. The amount of energy spent building solar farms is never offset by the 30 year lifespan of the solar farm itself.
@DanDelventhal8 ай бұрын
@@iangrogan5261 shoot! where did that stat come from!? I did a quick inet search to find info from Solarcraft stating that Solar panels don't require more energy to manufacture than they produce in their lifetime. FACT: A study by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory conclusively demonstrates that the manufacturing energy cost versus the energy production payback for solar modules is generally less than 4 years. However, your statement includes building out the actual farm, so there are other considerations. Sounds unfortunate.

And I imagine if the solar industry received all the billions invested in fossil fuel subsidies all these years those metrics would be better by now. Count on them improving!
