Josh makes for a great Master of Ceremonies. He has definitely become more comfortable in front of the camera and is showing us why Jon has so much confidence in him. I don’t envy the guys having to work on the retention pond. Mud and snakes, an unenviable recipe for potential disaster. Getting the Ventrac stuck in the mud must bring back memories for Jon when he did it and had to call Jodi out to rescue him with the Bobcat. That Ventrac, though, is a gem. When Jon got it and did a video about it I forwarded it to my friend in NJ, who has a landscape company. He became so enamored with what he saw he bought one and describes it as one of the best purchases he’s ever made. And Jon, when you can take a few hours to look at jobs knowing that when you come back everything will be good, that’s when you know you have one good crew. When Micah comes to work with a back making him move like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, that’s when you know you have a great crew.

That’s pretty fantastic how well the Ventrac just “floats” on the wet ground. They are pretty amazing machines, if you can justify the cost. Snakes are ok. I really hope you or none of your crew ever have to deal with the venomous varieties. Hahaha. As I was writing this, I then heard you say the Ventrac was stuck up to its belly!! Heh heh. It has great “flotation”, but it doesn’t “float”!!, haha. You had the right equipment to get it out at least. Thanks for sharing fellas!

Being a Greenville County resident myself, I can vouch that Greenville county likes to fine people for overgrown yards. They don't care what type of situation the person is facing, they just want all properties to look the same.
@peterbachman59653 жыл бұрын
Just makes sense to maintain versus leave it alone for several years then come back and try to knock down heavy overgrowth. People have the option to move/live elsewhere, too.

Up keep is cheaper if you keep the jungle back. Mow it like every month and the brush won't grow like this. Keep in mind this has been like this for YEARS before they did this job

The skidsteer brush clearer seemed way better.
@luke17723 жыл бұрын
@@MrPhatties It depends on where you’re clearing. In the video above they’re in a detention pond that is still wet and muddy. The main point if you watched was to not rut up the pond or as little as possible but also clear out the vegetation. A 10,000 lbs skid steer with a 2,500 lbs mulcher not only would’ve rutted up the pond bottom but also most likely would’ve buried it’s self in the mud due to its weight. This video proves not only the versatility of the Ventrac but also highlights its capability.
@MrPhatties3 жыл бұрын
@@luke1772 just saying that the ventrec was struggling on small brush and lost a belt while the skidsteer didn't even drop RPMs on much bigger stuff. Consisting the ventrec is a lawn mower it's damn impressive but I'd have been in there with the brush hog long before heading in with a tractor mower. Hard to make the point that the city cares about the state of the retention pond when looking at it lol.
@bigbluram3 жыл бұрын
@@luke1772 Very well said were also comparing a $40000 machine to a $180000 machine I think ventrack did very good considering the conditions it was working in that big machine would have been buried as soon as it went into the bottom of the pond if the ventrack was struggling
