SSS.... SUMMER SCOUR SYNDROME.. For the last few years we supply access to straw until calves are 7 months. No problems with SSS and changed meal supplier to include a rumen buffer The calves will source the straw themselves even when they have great grass.

Yes you hit the nail on the head, that would be the right way to do it Robert, we change our meal to include the same just never though of mentioning it. 👍

Good cure for the runs or rumen problems is kaolin powder. It's an inert (relatively) clay ground into a fine powder and is used in agriculture, food, medicine and other industries. Cornflour is another powder that can used in humans in the form of vanilla custard powder. I always wondered what it would like to ride in a feed trough as it was carried! 🤣🤣 Grazon Pro is good for killing off weeds. It doesn't kill grass. Nicole did well with the drone. Top video squire? Top video squire!

You should take faecal samples to check if worming or treatment is needed for coccidiosis to avoid unnecessary treatments.
@rogerbuoy8418 Жыл бұрын
My mother used to keep a bottle of Kaolin and Morphine, if you were in a really bad way you'd get s spoonful of that, tasted vile but it'd put you straight. I wasn't sure if it was still around, but googled it, and it is.
@jonathanconway81752 жыл бұрын
Fair play, crops look well....just wondering have you ever tried adding additives to the bales like molasses, I know a few lads that their baler man has like an IBC dribble bar on the front links ahead of the baler that let's out onto sward. Would be interesting to see if the feed value in the bales is any better than with nothing added.
