when i was 4 i would run around the kitchen while my mom and aunts made food for the men haying. the whole ranch depended on getting the hay done. we raised beef cows here in mt. watching your mom bringing you food in the field brought back those memories. thanks

I grew up in the country and my family rented out our land. It is awesome seeing why you do things a certain way, definitely answers questions I've had for years. Please be sure to disconnect the PTO or to turn off your tractor before fiddling with the business end of equipment. You got a wife and child who depend on you, take care of yourself so you can take care of them. Thankyou for all of your hard work and dedication for the consumers, I for sure am grateful. P.S. the drone footage in your videos as well as explanations are a great addition! Cheers 👍

Those of us that are office, IT, and so-called "knowledge" workers - that literally haven't been outside for more than 30 minutes each week for the past 7 weeks - are looking with so much appreciation and envy at farmers like yourself enjoying the warmer, sunny weather. I will also think twice about the origin and supply chain when I click 'add to cart' on milk or steak or bread at my favorite online grocer.

Really like your videos. I had a friend in elementary school that lived on a dairy farm and i had a lot of fun with him on thier family farm. I was way too young back then to understand how much hard work it actualy is. Some people just take it for granted that they can buy anything they need in a store but dont ever think about how much hard work goes into making it. You do a good work showing what goes into giving us the luxury of just going to a store and beeing able to buy milk. (btw feels silly saying "back then". im about the same age as you but elementary school was like 15 years ago.)

I been carrying a cordless impact for knives but last year I threw on a cordless 4-1/2" grinder. You won't believe how nice it is to just quick grind an edge on a knife now and then when you knock something. It's a staple on the tractor when mowing now

Thank you I finally found somebody on here that sharpens the blades on the mower. I know it's faster and it saves money but everybody on KZbin just throws the blade down. I would have ran that blade for a few years or till it had a bad bend in it that I couldn't get out.

Good video, in my day we used sickle mowers, then racked it and then baled, small bales. Myself and 4 other people we would pickup and throw about 1,000 bales of hay a day. My pay started out at 1/2 cent a bale in 1964. Four years later I was making 2 cents a bale. Sorry got carried away.

A little trick I learned from my cousin. If you seed winter triticale in the fall at about 3/4 of the rate you normally would than in the spring before the winter triticale comes back frost seed in spring triticale with the remaining 1/4 rate. For some reason it makes your leaves wider by up to 1/2 inch. Great video.

The grain name caught my eye. I recalled the name from some long ago watched TV show. So I looked it up, from Wikipedia: 'Quadrotriticale was a fictional high-yield, perennial grain featured in the the "Trouble with Tribbles" episode of Star Trek. Specifically, it was a genetically engineered hybrid of wheat and rye with four distinct lobes per kernel.' That was a particularly good episode. Enjoyed watching your video. Thanks for uploading. Learned a few things. This is what the Internet is for.

Just discovered your you KZbin postings yesterday. Wow been a long time since I worked as as a kid on our friends 40 head Holstein dairy farm. Mowed hay with a sickel mower, crimped hay with roller device that was new at the time. Use a standard rake to wind row the hay. New Holland bailer at the time used to bale hay, hand stouked and loaded on wagons. Amazed at your operation and like your milking parlour set up. How many active Milkers do you have in your hard. Im guessing at approx 400. Great presentations and even the little stuff like changing a PTO shaft from 540 to 1000 rpm doesn't go unnoticed. Attention to detail is great, keep it up Love your operation,

For someone who knows nothing about dairy farming, I'm really not 100% sure what I just watched.....Did you grow grass, cut the grass, now it's going to dry out to feed cows? I guess I've stated watching from the wrong video.......Your channel is very much like Cole The Cornstars channel, but Cole explains with every video why he is doing something........I'm not knocking your channel, I just never got much information from what I was seeing.....It's however nice to see young guys/gals taking on farm work that's been in their family's for god knows how many years...Good on you.

Mate nice video as always the mower you have is a very good one but on our farm we have a class mower and the blades always fall out and go flying every where and dad makes me go out and find them it's very hard to find the blades and then I have to put them back on but I have a metal bar to lift up the drum and all I need to do is put it in and pull the bar back out and keep going to put in the other blades
