What attracted me was the way the younger kids were relating to the poetry with such astute attention ... the traditional clapping of hands also helping in bonding the purpose of the recitation. Very nice ..... however, wish I could get an English translation of the poetry. Seems inspiring. Thank you.

1- Don't bring up lies and rumors that we ask forgiveness and mercy from them (Ahlul Bayt). 2- We (shia) say 'Ya Ali (as), Ya Muhammad (SAAW), Ya Hussain (as)' because in Quran it says {وابتغوا إليه الوسيلة}.

I am aware that someone pointed about the Zulu noises. I believe that's its part of a culture since I discovered this sound in an airport when they were greeting a loved one. I am not within this culture but I believe that it shows a sense of happiness?

Tbh all youths committee's are become very active now. Alhamdullah in Leicester we are active but a lot more can be done. I think the elder generation has realised its time to realise our british culture

Uoft Scarborough/Mississauga have a thaqalan association (any uoft student is open to participate) and they had a program on two weeks ago for muharam at Scarb. YorkU has an event every week for Shia Muslims. The mosques I have personally experienced on an occasion where they would not let us run an activity on Sunday because they did not want to have someone to come and open the door on Sunday. It's not the youth because if given the opportunity as in universities they do a lot.

uoft st george does not, and from what i know utsc became active this year. never heard of that :o, and again apart from this year during muharram our youth don't really do anything, theres a jaloos downtown (which is everyone) and thats about it yeah we might volunteer within our own mosque and thats about it. we dont get together. granted theres some distance and exams but once in a while wont hurt.

No. almost every mosque i know has a youth association, and they are somewhat active during muharram that's about it. i go to one of the largest universities in Toronto (city with possibly the largest shia population within canada?) and my campus does not even have a shia association - used to but it became inactive as they graduated. it has nothing to do with older generations or the mosques. we're simply inactive and divided.

Actually He(SAW) married TWO of his daughters to Uthman(RA), but they both passed away. We sunnis love Ali as much as you do, but it's not because He married Sayyidinah(PBUH) only daughter, seeing how that's not even true.

When you call upon CREATIONS (Ahlul Bayt peace be upon them) for: 1- Forgiveness. 2- Guidance. 3- Mercy. 4- Strength and Aid. Then you have become a true idol worshiper and a TRUE POLYTHEIST. And one last point: Ahlul Bayt are innocent from all Shias exactly as Jesus and Mary, peace be upon them, are innocent from all the polytheist trinitarian pagans. Syed Liyakhat Ali what is excess love? Lol excess love makes a person believe and understand the 'rutbah' of Mawla Ali, his prestige, his honour and also give him DUE RESPECT which he deserves. And not simply include him as 'one of many general' sahabis. No. What proves Mawla Alis status to me most is ZULFEQAR. The Mighty sword from heaven. Do you realise that special things of power were only decended from heaven for the most special Messengers or Rasools of Allah? Right? Mawla Ali was so High in status, although he is Not a Nabi, BUT, there is a famous Ahaadis of Rasulillah saw. that he says to Mawla Ali "You are to me as Haroon was to Ibrahim although I am the seal of Prophethood". Do you realise how great that saying is? I think Sahih Muslim or Bukhari has this Hadees in it. Not sure what number tho. Mawla Ali is not just some person to be 'just acknowledged'. He has received honor from God that his Zikr and praise are forms of Ibadah and gain blessings from Allah subhanahu wa taala. Just like reading Salawat for Rasulillah is.

When my [respected] mother was pregnent and about to give birth to my elder brother,my father saw a tiger in his dream.And some elders interpretated the tiger[seen in dream] as '' Hajrath Ali [ra].So my father ,after birth of my brother[his son] named my brother as Syed Shoukath Ali.In other words he gave my brother an additional name ''ALI'' by adding the word'' ALI'' to ''Syed Shoukath''.Later he named other sons also by including/adding word ''Ali''.Accordingly my is Syed Liyakhat ALI ! See..brother all muslims love/respect Hajrath Ali and the Ahle baith of our most loved noble prophet Muhammad[pbuh ..Rahamathul-lil-aalamin].That, only so called Shia loves Haj Ali[ra] &ahle-baith and others don't do is a Lie that should be exposed so that all muslims become one and say ''I am mulim...nothing less &nothing more '' Take care my brother in isla/my brother in PEACE ..Allah Haafij !
