howdy, troops! it's been a while and i've been sitting on this video for quite a bit but it's finally here!! the newest content update for Mowzie's Mobs in quite a while... as for 16:06, according to the mod dev, the correct term for a group of Umvuthanas are Abavuthana, but I used the term Umvuthanas for simplicity and to avoid confusion. but these two names represent the same mob. Mowzie's Mobs also recently just became available for bedrock edition as well. you can check it out in the description for more info. thanks again for watching, soldiers. until next time!

I vaguely remember a previous version of the mod where the Umvuthi and Umvuthana were like... pygmie tribals. Honestly, I like the bird-tribe look they're rocking more, you still get the typical tribal stuff like the masks and magic powers, but the added sunbird motif really makes them stand out.

​@lavadino610 Well, yes and no. The mod's creator didn't intentionally make them racist (of course) and didn't even see them as racist. What happened is many streamers were making racist jokes and comments about the mob especially to indigenous tribes, and people went to the creator about that, and the creator didn't like that (for obvious reasons) and wants to the mod to be accessible to everyone everywhere, so they changed them to the bird tribe we have now to prevent that (along with changing the jungle tribe to monkey like creatures) Honestly, we love the change, as the bird tribe just feels more fresh and unique then the generic old feral tribe trope.

Here's some relevant Bedrock news: There's a Bedrock version of Mowzie's Mobs in the marketplace (marketplace sucks, but hey, it's accessible to those who can't afford or run Java). I'm not sure if it's been made with the Mowzie's involvement or recreated since it lists Honeyfrost as the uploader of the add-on, but there's just some news for Bedrock-only players who are interested in this mod.

Another thing about the Frostmaw, you can disable its frost crystal by using a potion of invisibility and sneaking up to it and taking the crystal before it wakes up. Pretty hard to do but you can obtain it before killing the frostmaw. Do note that if you do this it will immediately use its slam attacks, and i believe leap toward you to slam. not sure about that last part but you can 1000% take it before the frostmaw wakes up.

The among us sequence was funny as hell, also for those wondering Umvuthi was supposed to be Barako the sun god. But Twitter being twitter(or X in this case) said that bright red/green coloured goblins are reminiscent of african tribe members and are hence somehow racist, so the creator had to change them into birds. But i like Umvuthi more than Barako because of the more detail on him

here's a fun fact...in the Umvuthana groves, opening chests or stealing masks off trees will turn the Umvuthana hostile to the player, even if they wear the mask but destroying the chest and picking up it and the items won't
