That first guy’s Spiritomb set just baffled me. Confuse Ray and …. Facade…? Why Facade? (EDIT: The more I think about it, I think they were a new player who just didn’t get how Facade worked. I think they think that Facade works like Hex. And they also didn’t know Hex exists either. And maybe Confuse Ray also counts as a status condition. Really can’t explain why they would run no STAB moves except Tera Blast, which only counts technically.)

It's quite interesting seeing that this is the first gen where all three starters are somewhat good in competitive. Usually it's one of maybe two on the rare occasion

When i saw leaks about new starters and their HA, i thought to myself Quaquaval is sadly the worst of them because the other 2 can beat it in 1 v 1. I also did mention that Quaquaval is simply too slow, and i quote "he would need water STAB signature move with like base 80 power that would work like Flame Charge and boost his speed 1 stage for this pokemon to be considered good" and would you look at that: I basically described his move before it was revealed. This is trully amazing, Game freak knew what they had to do to not ruin a water starter for once. This gen is arguably the best when it comes to new pokemon. Very well designed and names are just right. I just with they didn't remove Flip Turn from Pelipper and Barraskewda. Feels weird that only 2 pokemon know the move now, one of them being paradox form.

How does Skeledirge beat Quaquaval exactly

@@Squirtle_Squad_Supremacy Skeledirge has high defenses and the ability Unaware wich ignore any Moxie boosts Quaquaval might have had. Skeledirge can survive even Wave Crash. Just place weakness policy on Skeledirge and you 1 shot it back. Say Quaquaval KO'ed one of your mons, you can bring Skeledirge to revenge KO and stop the sweep. And its fire starter who win with water starter. Quaquaval would also take recoil from Wave Crash. Vs defensive Skleledirge Quaquaval would need a crit and even then it would have 18.8% chance to KO. And sure you could Tera into water for Quaquaval to ensure KO but Skeledirge can Tera into Grass and easily win this match up. It's basically Moxie vs Unaware.
