Thanks for taking the time to post a helpful video! Im highly interested in the timelapse function especially since this seems to be the only gimbal on the market that has 'move-shot-move' functionality to work with Sony a7s II on the iphone app controller. Ive always shot star time lapses on a tripod...Does the gimbal 'lock' sufficiently to allow for long-exposure (~20 sec) shots during a night time lapse (in some windy environments) before moving to the next spot? Ive never owned a handheld gimbal and just wondering how this one would perform in very long exposure settings in night conditions (with some wind) to allow for in-focus images vs a traditional tripod?

Great tutorial! Do you have any battery saving tips such as turn off preview mode? Should we be turning our phones to air plane mode just in case the time lapse is interrupted by a phone call?

you can set your timelapse with moza app and will not affect if you get a call or you want to make a selfie pic with your setup XD, if you will shot for long time (over 3 hours) i recomend to switch to evf(electronic view finder) , and set your camera in airplane mode on, this will make battery life a bit longer in your camera

After seeing this awesome video I checked if this gimbal was compatible with my camera and bought the Moza Air. The motion timelapse didnt work. Updates all the firmware, still didnt work. Then I bought a special Gudsen C1 Shutter controle cable...... and what do you know ? IT STILL DOESNT WORK !!!!!!

This feature made this gimbal to be the zhiyun crane killer! higher payload and amazing motion timelapse! Zhiyun wake up!
@AlexTimelapse
@AlexTimelapse 7 жыл бұрын
i even cannot compare with Zhiyun Crane (i own both gimbals) moza air have 2500gr payload, Zhiyun crane 1800, Many accesories included and as well moza air is the first ever gimbal with this professional motion timelapse mode, ah! Mimic control is coming! If you only need to get stable footage with a camera not heavier than 1600 gr Zhiyun will works fine, but if you want the same , plus use heavier cameras, use a dual handle, and make amazing motion timelapses for the same price you can buy the Moza Air, you are right i never used the Crane since i got the Moza Air, is the Zhiyun Crane killer lol!

Saludos

Just like the DJI Osmo+. I love this feature. The feature I wish they would program would be for the gimbal to have programmable way points in the movement where it stops: pan, stop for X seconds, continue pan, stop X seconds. On the DJI I can set numerous way points but it won't allow it to hover in any place for a duration.
@AlexTimelapse
@AlexTimelapse 7 жыл бұрын
DJI Osmo is a simple motion timelapse, continuous movement, pretty limited to shot with fast shutter speeds and wide angles to not get blurry images
@Motortriker
@Motortriker 7 жыл бұрын
Alex Timelapse DJI Osmo + can set as many way points as you wish; you can set the shutter speed to any you wish (with my variable ND filter attached I can get beautiful 1second motion blurs in the middle of the day), with shutter intervals from .5 seconds to as long as you wish between shots; and with focus set from between 1 meter to infinity; between 20mm - 77mm optical (the Osmo can also shoot 100mbps movie files in Cinema 4K in D-Log or even longer non-loss zooms at 1080p). Perhaps the sensor quality wouldn't be quite as good as a Sony C-MOS sensor to a pixel peeper but for a time lapse I doubt a layman could tell the difference,. I pretty much guarantee no one could tell the difference on KZbin after it has applied their compression algorithms 😜 (edit) just for comparison, a video showing the Osmo+ against Nikon D810: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aae9YYyfbbCXg68

is not MOVE-SHOT-MOVE and you are using a very basic camera, i use any mirrorless or dslr camera for professional timelapse and i can choose any shutter speed , up to 5 movements, we are talking about two very different things

Looks great Alex - I was going to buy a Crane as they get good reviews everywhere. I've never really heard of this brand until your videos popped up on my KZbin. Buying the Crane would have ment I'd have to buy a new camera as I own a Nikon D750 (750gms). The only negative I hear about the Moza is it takes a bit longer to balance it compared to the crane.

I was a Zhiyun Crane user but since they never released a "decent" motion timelapse i discovered Moza Air , i found is a better gimbal than zhiyun in many points, the payload is higher 2500 gr in front of 1800 gr of the crane, many accesories included like dual handle and connection cables, and now the big plus, moza air is the first ever gimbal with advanced motion timelapse, the reason is Gudsen team listen what the customers want

like any other customer i feel you can connect with Gudsen team and give your experiences, suggestions or ideas, i felt they took note when i suggested a Move-shot-move system , since April i been helping to develop and test the advanced motion timelapse mode, i feel very thankful for this collaboration , today i have in my backpack a quality 3 axis gimbal with professional motion timelapse mode that was my dream for over a year and many other customers can enjoy it, i think all the tech brands need to listen more to their customers is extremely useful :) (I tried from other gimbal brands, but the answer was," Awesome we will pass this info to our team!" Or , "we will consider , thanks so much" )

I just set my camera and MOZA Air up the exact same way you did in the video and I’m not happy with the results. It’s not smooth like yours. Mine has a stuttery effect to it. What can I adjust to make it smoother? Should I remove some points or add more points along the path?
@AlexTimelapse

i guess you choose a big angle and you took not enough pics, this is something very important in motion timelapse, according the angle you will move for example let's say 90 degrees, the motion will be very different if you shot 200 in this 90 degrees or 400, and the difference will be a smooth movement or a choppy movement ( you can get with short shutter speeds),Moza Air adcanced motion timelapse works better than some professional motion timelapse devices , is about to get used to it

make sure your gimbal is set to Sony camera (you can set from the phone app, thumb controller of softsare app) as well make sure autofocus is off, you do not need any other timelapse app or device to use advanced motion timelapse with the moza air

I have the same camera and he's right, the motion timelapse on the Moza Air works but its not actually taking the photo. I am sitting here testing it right now and its not taking any photos. I do have the paid Sony TL app on my camera and have been using that but I thought I would try it without using the TL app since you mentioned you don't need it when using advanced motion timelapse. Also any suggestions on focusing? I tend to use AF just to lock in the focus then will switch it over to MF with focus peaking turned on especially when I am walking with the gimbal. I am noticing a lot of my shots are out of focus. Not sure if that is because I am shooting on a slow shutter speed to create the motion blur or what.

@gtarthv

1. does the best setting for shutter interval always +2 and shutter duration always +1 over the camera shutter? 2. i have sony camera with timelapse app, it mean if i want to create timelapse with this gimbal the camera timelapse app won't be necessary? Thanks. . .
@Shiftx07
@Shiftx07 6 жыл бұрын
1. To my understanding, the interval is how long of a wait in between shots and the duration is how long it'll wait on that shot. So a faster shutter like 1/250 would just be at 1, but for longer exposures you'd want to set it for the shutter speed. I haven't used this for longer exposure shots yet. 2. The cable will fire the camera for you, all you would need to do is have your settings set that you want in camera (Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO) and then program the gimbal to fire the camera via Moza Assistant App.

Yes, the first ever 3 axis gimbal with this professional motion timelapse feature, is awesome!! you can see on the last clips, i used 4 seconds shutter exposure, if the gimbal is giving continous movement, even very slow the clip with have blur

Yeah. All true. My original post wasn't trying to say the Osmo+ is an equivalent to your equipment, it was that I would love the feature to be added for the gimbal to be programmable to move-pause-move-move-pause etc. And in the Osmo's case, to program zooms into the movements too (rather than digital zooms in post). Sorry if my comment annoyed you. I wasn't trying to disrespect you or your work. It's fantastic. (subbed)

i posted a few days ago my test in Aperture priority mode, check on my channel " Hong Kong sunset from Tamar Park" i just need to set the lowest shutter speed i will get during the sunset, according 5 seconds exposure will be the lowest shutter speed, i setup from the app

Does this 'move-shot-move' work only with Sony cameras? As far I can see the Sony is connected to the Moza Air. Is there a cable available for Nikon DSLR for connecting it to the Moza Air? If no then how will the Moza Air initiate the capture on the Nikon camera?
@AlexTimelapse
@AlexTimelapse 7 жыл бұрын
The advanced motion timelapse is still in Beta version, in a few days will be released, the moza air come with 3 connection cables for Sony,Panasonic and Canon, already other moza air users asked for the Nikon cable and Gudsen noted it

BTW Zoltan, are you the genius who created qDSLRdashboard?

I'm the creator, but far from genius. To bad there is no Nikon cable, would be nice if there is some instructions on how to build one (only for shutter release) so that SMS works.
@AlexTimelapse
@AlexTimelapse 7 жыл бұрын
i think Gudsen will produce a Nikon cable and since today i will push for it, i think Qdslrdashboard could be a great help, a negative point of shoting motion timelapse with this gimbal is a bit sensible if i have to touch the camera, i success in some windy days shot, but if i have to change iso or shutter speed i get a little bump and i have to correct in postproduction, i will test my next holy grail using qdslrdashboard

Hopefully it works on the G7. In the mean time do you have any suggestions as to how i can prevent the movement from going at the same time as the picture gets snapped = it causing a blury timelapse.

use the normal motion timelapse mode, as well you can find a tutorial on my channel, do not take pics under half second shutter speed, this is the limitation of the continuous movement, the moza air is the only gimbal with this advanced motion timelapse and allow you to shot long exposure pics , hope will works with your camera with panasonic firmware update
