Mozart wrote this for Aloysia Weber. Once there was a time when he was in love with this woman. He ended up marrying her sister Constanze. You can hear it all in this last aria he wrote for her.

Sandrine Piau is a very good high lyric soprano with great musicality and a good coloratura. So, in theory this should have been a perfectly suitable aria for her. But, alas, as others have pointed out, Christophe Rousset proposes an almost impossible tempo here. The long chains of semiquavers in this aria (e.g. from 2:45 or from 4:25) are particularily uncomfortable, and even coloratura specialists like Nathalie Dessay or Edita Gruberová (who recorded the aria in a considerably slower tempo) sound maybe not tense, but also not completely at ease in these passages. In this absurdly fast tempo, a lyric soprano like Piau can't help but come close to an unelegant 'clucking' sound at times, falling behind the beat, and sometimes barely stay in the saddle. Apart from the coloratura, though, I find her rendition charming and graceful as usual!
