Hi In that case, my only advice would be to forget your lips, and the flute brand and try to concentrate and focus on the air column, imagine that the sounds starts from your foot to your nose.Try to relax in order to feel this transition from the foot to your nose.After that, if your lips start shaking, it's only a question of training, but the first issue is the air column. After solving this problem, the lip technic is not so difficult if you training everyday.sorry for the poor english. Rgds

@justemailine1 thanks. It's a silver handmade Haynes flute (Boston, USA) manufactured in 1971, with a recent Dana Sheridan headjoint (Köln, Germany).

As a fellow flautist, I love your rendition - these are my reasons: 1) You have a lovely tone, sweet, with a pleasant vibrato that's appropriate to the time period (It's not Wagner, so why play it like a late 19th century piece?). 2) Your tempo - too many recordings make this piece like a "Largo" - it's an ANDANTE - walking tempo, it moves forward at a leisurely pace. Bravo! Thank you :)

Spectacular cadenza! I'd like to play that way someday.

This is very nice! You have a very well-developed tone. However, I couldn't help but notice that you were starting your trills on the below note. In Mozart's music, his trills are always played starting on the above note. Overall, great job! :)

OoF! The self proclaimed musical snobs in the comments have me rolling. They aren't worried about the bigger picture, which is the music as a whole. To that I say, you did a wonderful job! 🌟🙌 to the musical snobs, there exists no end all be all in terms of interpretations!

Nice. I notice that someone always asks "where can I find the sheet music?" If you play the flute you should know to got to Flute World. They have pretty much every piece written and published for our instrument. Most often different renditions as well. Even different cadenzas for the same piece. Unless you write your own. Good luck on finding the music you want folks.

I'm so confused, I'm trying to play this song, everything is going alright except for the trills, do you trill from the note written then up or the note above then down. A lot of people I hear play from note to up but at times I swear I hear the other way around.

Hi, I'm learning this piece for high school band and am having trouble with my counting. Any suggestions?
@chandlermurphy517011 жыл бұрын
Always up. I have seen some trills that go down, but they are always stated. Be sure you are trilling to the next note up in the same key. Ex. If it is in the key of C and the trill is an A, then trill up to B. NOT B FLAT. And most importantly, you need to be in tune for it to sound well. I hope that helps. If none of it helps, it is probably because you have a wrong fingering. Go to google and search for a trill fingering chart. They have a very helpful one on flutetunes.

A lot of famous professors I've met told me that the trills should be played from the note above then down. But they can not prove this a this period of classical music. Anyway, at the baroque period there are a lot of testimonies that recommend this method.. is it really important... ?

Could you maybe send me this amazing cadenza per mail?
@prolegomene19 жыл бұрын
Lena Grün Hi. This Cadenza (as well as the interpretation) has been inspired by Aurele Nicolet's 1978 recording with Royal Concertgebouw orchestra (dir. David Zinman). Unfortunately, I just imitated the cadenza, I dont have any written version, sorry..
