As someone currently playing the piece in an orchestra, trust me. It's pretty much two quavers out. You can see this as the viola player at 1:19 moves and plays the longer note to which it changes from quaver staccato to more tenuto-like dotted crotchets visually approximately two quavers before the note sounds.
Excellent. One of my favourite Mozart divertimenti; a great sense of closure and wonderful phrasing.

menuhin's conducting is very demanding and for trained listeners.listen to a slower version to understand all the minor melodies. its like a harmony exercise, in a simple fashion. made by a genius though..

I've seen the music for this viola part and yes, it's quavers at that section, moving to crotchets. Anyway, don't care so much for the visuals here, the audio is great.

indeed so, my Italian friend. I was deliberately understating his genius for effect.

The only reason it looks out is because the picture is a split second behind the audio. You only have to listen to them

Excellent for me... Something strange bar 87 first beat : cellos playing "h" instead of "d". The broken harmonic relation sounds good here but not according to Bärenreiter ? Someone played it with "h" or is it Menuhin's idea ?

You're right. Every musician that came before Mozart was in error, waiting for a composer-christ to show them the way. Nietzsche would have also called you a weakling, clinging to the slave morality, for participating in hero-worship.

In Australia, this is the call waiting music for virtually all Human Services phone lines. Anybody who needed unemployment benefits, student assistance, childcare assistance, hardship assistance or any other kind of government help usually spends a good hour or two becoming acquainted with this music. Like Alex de Large, the piece of music is forever ruined for me.
