This is the most beautiful thing that I have ever heard. Especially when the singer is completely alone. I cry every time I listen to this. Hard to believe that a mortal could create such beautiful music. I almost can't believe it myself. The soprano is something that could only have been created by God himself. Thank you Mozart - I don't know where we would be without you.

A little explanation to understand better such a great composition: Kyrie Eleison are Greek words for "Lord have mercy upon us". In the Catholic mass these words are said 3 times: one for the Lord Father (the firts Kyrie Eleison), another for the Lord Son (Christe Eleison), and the last one for the Lord Holly Spirit. Note how the music change every time the pray change of Lord. Hope my English had been enough clear for this explanation. GBY all!

where can i find words to describe the beauty of mozart's work?
@RodCornholio5 жыл бұрын
Impossible without using religious terms (and that's coming from me, someone without a faith). Something to think about: by hearing his music (ignoring 440hz tuning), you are experiencing what Mozart heard inside his head (or more than 200 years ago in real life). And here is the kicker...there may never...ever....ever be anyone like him again...ever, as in, until the end of the universe. So, what you're hearing could very well be a piece from the pinnacle of human musical achievement. I mean, this could be, literally, as good as it will ever get. You're very lucky to have heard it and will be filled with a deep sense of gratitude when it hits home.

You're obviously completely unfamiliar with the classical repertoire, which contains untold number of masterpieces such that comparisons can only be relegated to the uninspired and/or undignified individuals. E.G. Beethoven Bach Chopin alone wrote plenty of soul-cleansing pieces that you should familiarize yourself with, otherwise you're missing out.

La mejor versión, comparada incluso con Gardiner o Herreweghe. Los tempos son rápidos, que vitalidad la del tipo.I usually prefer performances from smaller orchestras with original instruments, baroque phrasing, but this is still the best performance I´ve yet seen live or recorded. Such a vitality from Mr. Bernstein and M. Auger. AWESOME.

@Jitpring: Anyone with a soul who isn't devoid of human emotion can appreciate this beautiful music. I would, however, point out that only Catholics can transcend an ordinary appreciation of the music and fully embrace the sacredness of both the music and text. It's no accident that the greatest of composers were Roman Catholic. Ad majorem Dei gloriam!

What about Bach, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Korsakov, Handel, Brahms, Elgar, Holst, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Grieg, and all the other non-Catholic composers? There is no denying that these composers were remarkable, if not sheer geniuses.
