I am of the opinion that all Dutch orchestras are great.... I think I have heard them all, this one is of course especially good. Bravo conductor, soloist and orchestra.

It takes every inch of genius to play Mozart like this bravo to conductor, orchestra and soloist.

Mozart was a complete musical genius! The melodies are truly breathtaking (especially this part of the 2nd movement, 16:23-16:47). I could listen to this concerto every day! Ronald Brautigam is a brilliant classical pianist, and Edo De Waart is a true conducting master! A special mention to the orchestra as well, they are totally world class, and the camera work is perfectly executed.

I challenge anyone to find a better recording of the piece. Brautigam is an absolute legend and is criminally underrated.
@finjarmo3 жыл бұрын
Beavo! Mr Brautigam certainly is one of the great Mozart interpreters of our time. He plays so smoothly, and he doesn't "hammer" the klavier like some especially younger colleagues do. Maestro de Waart and his orchestra did good job. Special thanks to Avrotros Klassik for many brilliant recordings on You Tube.

What a magic "transfer" of Mozart's own cadenza of the 23rd concerto to the first movement!!

Can you tell in addition that he actually worked out the transposition so that it would fit in the range of Mozart’s fortepiano if it were to be played on such?
@TehKaiser2 жыл бұрын
It's also not very musical because it was easy to tell it was a transplant and not part of the whole.

Ronald Brautigam really captured the sprightliness / other worldliness of this concerto and under the baton of Edo de Waart's , the orchestra brings out the ethereal sound that is so Mozartian. When I close my eyes, I could imagine floating in the air above Monet's gardens in Giverny. Superb 💖 and TY for sharing 🥂

Mozart,s works are all in all to our human beings. Because Mozart,s works heal our mind,s pain and fade away our suffering ,lamentation , sadness and grief . Pianist, orchestra and conductor perform seamlessly together and this is marvelous work by all; Mr Brautigam’s brilliant and beautiful playing is somewhat diminished by his choice of the 1st movement cadenza; yes,it’s by Mozart but I think Mozart would never have used it here. It’s an error of taste.

Who wrote the main cadenza at the end of Movement I? It wasn't Mozart, to the best of my knowledge. In the edition that I have at home, there is no written-out cadenza, only a fermata suggesting that a cadenza should be added.So, was it Ronald Brautigam who contributed this section, or someone else? It is only fair that ALL parts of this performance are appropriately attributed!

don't get me wrong , i am VERY grateful for these live performances ; but i wish we could not have to listen to WHITE NOISE (applause) at the end....i often put music on while painting , and forget... could the volume at least be reduced for applause , if not removed?? it a HARSH and grating noise after the bliss of the music or perhaps i need to be jarred back to this reality ? anyway , thanks
@zogzog10636 жыл бұрын
I agree. This is one of the reasons I never buy live music. Still I am very grateful for these performances. Often one hears more because it is possible to see the player playing that particular instrument. A like from me. PS I hope they pay the pianist - then he could afford to see a hairdresser

@@AVROTROSKlassiek Applause is an appropriate response to a moving live performance! Classical music shouldn't be sanitized of the real world where it is performed to impact real people just because of the personal desires of musical connoisseurs that are too easily distracted.
@mionakamunevocalist5 жыл бұрын
that is actually very good feedback for recordings in general. thank you.
@davidm.8855 жыл бұрын
Applause is an integral part of a concert performance. These recordings are a chance to vicariously participate in a genuine, shared experience of the music as was the creator's original intention and purpose.
