Curious as a non-muscian: For a professional such as this gentleman, how long does it take to memorize and play the piece competently?

@@adjappleton that depends. Two of those sonatas I had previously learned before starting preparing for this recording. Plus it took me longer so I was waiting for my studio to be ready. But you can easily put about 6 months +. All the best!
