Nope. Will taste very different as those nuts taste different than cashews.

Are the cashews raw or roasted?

Always raw :). If you don’t have a high speed blender you can boil them for ten minutes or soak overnight in water..

I'm shocked to see that you don't use nutritional yeast in this recipe, was this an intentional omission or was it before you all started using that as much? If the latter, do you use it in this recipe now?

It's literally just an excerpt from a longer video where we use it in a recipe. This video was an afterthought really. We just wanted to give a shorter version of how to make it.

Since this video, yes. This is a bit older now. I like the lactic acid but still often use lemon or vinegar too 😀
