the m9 is just amazing. it's my favorite gun in real life and all the games that feature it. idk why, but i love it so much. maybe its just its smoothness and great feel whether you're shooting it in real life and in video games.

I think you can only use the base version of which faction you are due to how the unlock system works. You get the M9 default as US and the MP-443 as RU. since modified pistols are separate weapons as far as the game is concerned, when you unlock them you get them for both teams, but there is no unlock for the base gun unlike all the default primaries.

A bit of a correction. the m9 actually does more damage at long range than the other two pistols mentioned in this video. while the g17 and mp443 have a minimum damage of 12.25, the M9 has a minimum damage of 13.75. combine this with its high muzzle velocity and the m9 comes out to be the best of the three for longer range engagements.

That sounds like a good idea. It would definitely make it more of a team effort to save someone like 1 to cover 1 to revive, but the downed player has the ability to crawl but decelerates speed when health depletes. I also enjoy the idea of the ability to counter one's knife take-down which if is successful he gets the tags.

I fully agree with you, mechanically there's no difference between the 3 pistols (naked, tac and suppressed), hence why the kills combined from the 3 weapons should count towards the naked version of the given pistol. Considering how long it takes them to release a patch, it'll take them years before it's finally fixed.

My favorite is the 44 scoped. Great if you really know how to use it, and the best imo for running aggressive recon because sometimes you might not kill on the first shot. Nothing more satisfying than hitting a shot with a rifle, then firing once to finish them off.

I understand your point, and no one wants a 100% game, and your right it toes the line of being fun. Everything has been patched and remeasured so many times nothing feels solid anymore. But think about the authenticity aspect for the game. The devs said in the beginning they were going for realsim and authenticity. I really dont mind the tac light, IMO i think the challenge of going up against som1 w/ a tac light is fun and a wider variety of engagement w/ othr plyrs. I'd rather they keep it.

I think pistols should have a similar upgrade system to the primary weapons, use them to unlock more attachments for them, but keep the way that the actual pistols are unlocked by going up levels like they are now. That way there will be more variety among pistols not just the same m9 or whatever people use.

I like the g17c more because it has better hip fire than all the others, but that is with the lazer on, also you can have the supresor as well so that when you swich to your side arm you have the best hip fire and the best TA.

why not? if its a secondary, most likely it will be a close quarters engagement and if your going to face a full auto enemy, its best to just blind and spray them.

I don't think muzzle velocity really matters if you use the pistol it is supposed to be used (Close quarters) which is why I like the G17C w/laser. I think this is what comes down to: M9- Range, MP443- ADS, G17C- Hip fire

Don't get me wrong; I use the REX, .44 mag, G17C or 1911 at different times and I like them all for different situational uses. I try not to get too attached to any one weapon and use what gets the job done.

Actually, I believe that it the tactical light needs some rebalancing more than removing it. I would enjoy it being more useful on dark maps as a real flashlight that you need to see, and then nerfing it's effectiveness for day maps. A mod already exists that gives battlefield a realistic darkness and lighting setup, and I hope they incorporate the idea from it into the next game.

Would be nice if the G17C didnt sound like a cap gun and something about the MP443 makes it better than the other 2 for me even though I use the M1911 tac. DICE really needs to add dogtags for the pistol with tac light or add them towards the naked pistol kills. Im guessing suppressed pistol gets tags because the stats change from the naked one unlike just adding a tac light.

For me I prefer either the M1911 s tac or silenced. Although the silencer reduces muzzle velocity and hip fire accuracy the sheer size of the round really makes the difference

From a competitive point of view, it's best to give the best gun by statistics a try, just to give you the edge. But if you do better with a different gun after having got a few hundred kills with the 'best then go with what you use better. I personally drift between really good with the AN-94 to being really good with the M416. When i start messing up with either, i switch to the other and i'm on a roll again.

I wish when you revew the pistols you'd show their practicality. Not just running in a server alone with pistols only. No one actually runs around run n' gunning with only pistols. Showing their strengths in games where you actually need to pull it out to get a kill would be some nice highlights.

irl magnums are generally more powerful then most assualt rifles the difference is it has a little amount of ammo and u can go full auto with most pistols.

For all pistols, I use M93R for Assault, G18 for Engineer, M1911 for Support, and Rex or Magnum for Recon. Most of my friends use the MP443 and G17 instead of the others. They say it just feels more satisfying to use. Only one of my friends prefer the M9.

Your iron sight opinions are interesting, I think the G17c has the best sights, M9 second, and MP443 worst. My preferred sidearm is the G17c Suppressed; I like the large mag, the second best bullet velocity, and that laser sight is handy, even though I don't hipfire much.

Because, despite what movies and CoD would have you believe, the DE is NOT a very combat effective sidearm. I'm honestly surprised that they even included the .44 Mag in here. That being said, BF is a game and so I think it would be kind of neat to see just how they might balance it.

Well, actually, the .44 Magnum is larger than the .45 ACP. What you're forgetting is that firearm ammunition is not as simple as bigger number = better round. You also have to pay attention to the type of ammunition, and I don't mean HP, AP, or FMJ. I mean that a Magnum round will likely be larger than a "regular" round of the same number. I'd much rather be shot with a .45 ACP than a .44 Magnum. That being said, the .45 ACP is very hard-hitting and upgrading to a .44 Mag is mostly overkill.

in those 3 i prefer the mp443. m9 sounds like a rusty gun while the g17 sounds like a bb gun. but in all sidearms magnum looks the sexiest and the best sound. also has th best ironsight imo.

Actually the suppressor uses different ammo in the gun called "cold" rounds which reduces the aim and the range of the gun but hides the player from radar. If it were to use normal rounds and a suppressor, the bullet would not travel beyond it. Long story short: just because it's longer, doesn't mean it's better!

What I would like to see is a man down type of system in the next game. One where a guy at 15% would drop to the ground in real life and need to be dragged to a place to be saved. Now granted, the .338 lapua is pretty destructive in real life, it's not really guaranteed to kill immediately in one hit below the neck, though it can. But, I believe that this is more of an advantage because it puts a choice in medics minds, "take a chance at getting shot to save him, or leave him."

Velocity matters even more at longer ranges.. At close range muzzle velocity still plays a big part because if your bullets get to your target a big quicker that means your enemie dies a bit quicker and he cant get those last few bullets to shoot and kill you...I also like the M9's ironsights the best but maybe Im baised, Ive been using the M9 in most of the old Battlefields. In BadCo.2 the M9 was really really good. I could literally just use that gun in BC2 and still get a bunch of kills.

And given the stats you addressed, this explains why I enjoy the suppressed version of this weapon. And as far as shooting at long range, i also find the g17c does really well at long ranges as long as you've got the ability to aim

One of my clanmates is the #1 g17c player in the world, he has 10,000 kills with it and once he got 100+ kills with just the g17c and grenades in noshair canals! I love the g17c because it has as much ammo as the mp443 but better hip fire which is better for the kind of situation I usualy pull out my pistol.

Muzzle velocities aren't right, shorter barrels allow the rounds to keep more speed out of the gun. The G17 has the shortest barrel, yet it's slower than the M9 which has a longer barrel. The rounds are exactly the same, so it's either you or battlefield that has incorrect stats.

I play black ops, I don't have Battlefield 3 (sadly) but when I run with shotgun, I generally use a makarov for my distance kills, and I can drop people pretty quickly with it. Granted, BF3 seems like a superior game compared to any COD game in terms of number of guns, map sizes, and variety of play styles.

if you are in the russian army you can use mp443 without attachments but no m9 without attachments. it's the other way around in us army: no mp443 without attachments but m9 without attachments

There is not too big of a difference between the .44 and the .50 AE, and it doesn't take much to convert a .50 AE to a .44 or even a .357, but there is a still a difference between them, mostly being the .44 has less recoil and the .50 AE has more stopping power.

REX actually reloads FASTER than the .44 as well. you can reload-cancel very early with the rex too, as soon as your soldier 'smacks' the back of the speed loader(the thing that holds the bullets for revolvers). Quickly do a knife-swipe when ammo counter reads 6, and switch back to pistol before you see knife on screen and you'll save a little less than 1 second from reload time. Sounds tiny, but it can save your ass! =)

Use the M16A4 at longer ranges and the M416 at closer ranges (Use scopes according to the range) my opinion.
