This is great!! Question please, i just got one of those amazing machines never owned one before. Mine does not have the fx in it, do you have the fx board or run them externally at later stage? Not sure of to invest $400 on it or just ad them from other source.

guy taib I’m glad I chucked the fx in, really can make your tracks come to life with movement and such. Can get pretty creative, I recommend.

Do you put all drum patterns on one track or just drum sounds one track in the sequence?

I record my drum sound in separate tracks, trck 1 sn, track 2 kick..... on this mpc but on the new mpcs like the Touch I record all my drums in the same track.

Considering trading my masshine mk3 for a Mpc2000xl, how many of you would recommend that in 2020? (A majority of the beats I make are sample based)

Using SCSI would be a deterrent for me. But can replace the disk drive with flash card readers, so there's that. If you modified it that way, I guess it would be dope then!

I would... if you're gonna use a sampler then sample... If you're gonna be in the box then you can use anything.. A midi keyboard, machine, it don't matter. But there's still something to be said about the magic that happens when you sample and create from scratch...
