i had a yamaha midi sequencer black box i bought it didnt work so i reset the board and it started to work also had a yamaha ry8 drum machine the mpc 500 is a real good example of something like a ry8

Did you get those knobs lined up? they look nice, can’t stand when shit drags though. Maybe the screw needs to be where the little notch is? Shit, I had to drill out those little holes that the pad nipples fit into because they were so tight that they would push out and the pads wouldn’t sit down all the way.

It drags a little and I don’t like it at all. I believe, when Akai made the mpc 500, they did not line up the frame correctly. I plan to place some small rubber washers under the board to raise it up so they won’t touch the side. If that, don’t work than I’m returning them. Also, I looked at a lot of other mpc 500 and noticed the same off alignment. The knobs are really nice, but that metal to metal rubbing is annoying.

@@beataddiktgodd maybe Mike might have some advice about how to fix it.. does it rub all the time or just when it gets to a certain place when turning the knob?
