I hear ya, I can't leave things alone either Karl.... 👍 Very well done, Petty is one of my all time favorite drivers.

Hi Karl love that 69 charger, when you removed that hood I expected that bad boy to fire up. The engine compartment is awesome. The underside looks amazing. I noticed how the decals are all placed where they should be as well. It's a beauty you should be very proud of this build. I watched one of your videos the other day the one where you combined the cab over tractor with the tow truck. Im sorry I thought that was a kit that could be purchased. My hearing sucks, I worked in explosives for thirty years . I rewatched that video again and got your reply back. Now I understand what kit bashing is, thank you . That is something that I had never heard of before, I always just build the kit as it comes , paint it my way and have fun doing it. I take my hat of to you, you have got talent, I have watched several of your videos and everyone of them are so cool. Who knows I may give this a try , I'm 59, and have been building since I was 12 . Maybe it's time to try something new . I would love to actually see a video of you doing one of your custom builds. Keep the cool builds coming, I enjoy your channel, and look forward to checking out more of your amazing work.

Wow Harold... thank you very much! That's a kool story and if I can inspire someone to try something new I think that's fantastic! I am very humbled by all of the compliments I receive and I love building models. You hit the nail on the head when you said the most important thing... you build them YOUR way and have as much fun as possible! Thanks again Harold... I sincerely appreciate it!

Beautiful model! And you're right, the 440 wedge was a stronger engine than the 426 hemi. Hemispherical combustion chambers are no slouch but nothing could outrun a police car with the wedge.

That gives me an idea doing my own stock car kit with a Dukes of Hazzard Dodge Charger I would have got rid of the wing window post and covered up the rear tail lights they ran the charger 500 and also the charger RT in stock car racing and the Dukes of Hazzard car was a Charger RT in the TV show but they also use the charger 500 in the TV show also but the RT was mainly the car I like your work you did a nice job now it makes me think of doing one

Thanks Scott... I appreciate that! I also agree with you but I didn't go that far with this build. I'm pretty keen on the old days of NASCAR and as I mention in the commentary of this video, a charger 5000 would be correct with the Coronet grill and cover the taillights with a panel for sure... plus a bunch of other small details. As it turn out, it was just a lot of fun and way nicer than the '73-'74 cars in my opinion! You should build one like you were saying, you'll have a blast! Thanks again Scott... cheers!

Cool model I’m doing the same when I came across your video. I’m building mine to look like Bobby isaacs #71 Charger 500 minus that smooth back window. I have not paint the body at the time of this comment so I might try and see if I can make the 500 rear window.

@karlturon4273 жыл бұрын
No... I don't need to check. First... it's a model (my model) Second... there were many Petty cars that were painted all blue. Only the later cars were blue and red. Thanks for watching!
@michaelreece4583 жыл бұрын
@@karlturon427 Agreed. I'm going to be doing the same conversion with the Dukes car, same paint job as yours. And I'm building the '73 Charger all blue... because l prefer it that way.

@@michaelmcfarland3108 no links and the answer is yes. All 3 kits run the same tires, so the wheel diameter is the same whether it's the tv car or the stock cars. Dukes have the turbine wheels... Petty/Baker have the 5-hole slots...

You really blew your credibility when you said a 440 was the better motor between it and a 426 hemi. Yeah, a 440 is a damn strong engine. But in no uncertain terms is it better than the 426. If you out ran a 426 with your 440, you out ran a worn out, misfiring 426. And even then, a half way decent driver probably could have STILL won with a bad 426. BAHAHAHAHAHA! Nah, I'm just picking with you. But hey, I REALLY do like your 69 Charger on the 72 chassis. That was a good idea.
