MPC Key 61 SSD Install

You should screw the SSD to the bottom plate. If you notice there are four holes and four outside holes to screw back to the keyboard it should not hang loose or be held down with the tape.

You just helped me out a lot bro I bought it and I’m still trying to learn how to use it if there’s anybody out there who can actually help me out with learning this I’m new to the keyboard and MPC thing. There are videos out there showing this. Ava Mcree, Matthew Stratton and Poli Popo and a bunch of others have videos that go into details on installing a hard drive and formatting it. It's the same for the MPC X, Live and now Key 61, it's not hard to find. Let not put misinformation out there.

People want to see the install for their actual piece, someone who is new to mpc anything most likely won't know that they're all the same and people don't explain that, or there usually is something that is different that they have to explain and not show. I wouldn't say it was misinformation because I've been looking and this was the only video that breaks it down like this for the key 61. To be more clear, after buying mine I searched for MPC Key 61 and seeing a lot of live, MPC x and what not in the title I skip it because I'm looking for my product.

Since this and the Key 37 are supposed to be stand alone machines that can be operated and function without a computer necessary...Can this addition of the hard drive be done purely on the Key 61 touchscreen?

Hey boss man, did you put in MPC stems the standalone onto your MPC key 61 ? And if so, can you make a video about how to do it? I’m trying to figure out how to do it and I don’t see anybody doing it on the MPC 61 I’ve seen people do it on the MPC was it 37 or 31 is one of those, but it wouldn’t work when I tried it on MPC key 61

I’m ready to upgrade the ren for this. But I feel like us ten guys got did a little dirty, my laptop got hacked yesterday idk what happens but I was trying to get more output out of my processor watching videos and whatever this one video said to do made my laptop go nuts by itself moving stuff screens opening and closing, so I pulled the plug right, unplugged my router, booted it back up and stored what I could on usb sticks lesson learned but I’ve never had any issues not having external hd’s had crashes of software when using to big to many vsts other then that I was good until yesterday. So I had to do the dreaded hard reset. Turns out the 2.0 us ren guys sufford not having that we paid for. I can’t download it. There making me pay again…. On topic can you do a video on how to properly set up our pc’s for external ssd’s for vst’s and external Hd for programs,samples, and recordings. And last the backup external hd for everything like a hard reboot. Like how the guys with mac’s are doing. But in detail in a way to an extend of how to pull it from already being installed on computer then separating it to the externals when my external hardrives get delivered. Akai with some of the downloads for the ren was direct it gave 3 locations to store. But a lot of the stuff like the samples,Mpc60,1200,2500, ext. was not and just dumped into a file when downloaded then I had to place it. Also how to do it for fl if you have that too Evan having a hard time getting my stuff back from them ,not Evan halfway done and been downloading daws,sample packs,vsts since yesterday afternoon. Man I hope you read this comment

What is the purpose of installing the SSD card? I know you said to save beats etc but can't you save inside of the MPC Key 61 without an SSD card installed? Is it just to expand the memory capabilities or something else?

You don’t have much internal space. U will always save to ssd or in the case of the other mpcs you also have sd card. That is where your projects n beats go.
