@@Altruwest That’s Means that I was Wrong With The Rankings, However I Was Right with the 1200 Sounding The Best… I had Machine and MPC MIXED UP… Which Means The MPC IS WELL WORTH IT… it Delivered on Characteristics That The 1200 Has, just Different Sonic’s. Based on The Workflow Layout and Touchscreen… IMMAH AIM FOR THE MPC SE FIRST, Then Get The 1200 down the Road. Thanks, This Test Demonstrates What I needed to make that Decision FINAL !😎

Try it with Air Lofi insert on MPC set to soft brilliance preset and sp1200 bit rate/kHz settings instead of the horrible sp1200 ring vintage mode setting. It's much better/closer.

you could tell B was the real SP because the ringing stopped when it played the sample at the "original" pitch in the first example. it only rings when it was pitched down. C sounds the worst in both examples because the ringing doesn't change with each pitch like it should. i'm almost surprised to see the MPC emulation fail this bad, i didn't realize they screwed that up. Maschine was pretty close on the second example, not sure why it wasn't ringing out so much with that sample.

This is a bit like "F1 Racing Shootout" between a McClaren F1 Car, an Impala and a Nissan Sunny. Of course the SP1200 is going to do the job better.

I think that B from the 1st example and C from the 2nd are both MPC. They seem a bit overly exaggerated in noise and artifacts to me, just like my Live 2 sounds to me. Not hating on my MPC at all, i'm just not a big fan of their 1200 emulation 😅

B, C, A… THEN C, B, A… However on The Last Round, C & B Handled Their Own And HAD a Different Sonic But Same Characteristic, SO I Say A Tie on the Last One With C & B … Which Means “B” Wins. 🙌🏽🙌🏽 I Believe B is The SP1200, Then C Is The Machine… The A Is The MPC X SE… I’d BE SHOCKED TO MY CORE IF I AM WRONG. Cool! Having the Machine MK3, i definitely know what its SP mode sounds like. The Mpc sounded kind of consistent, as well, like it was more of an effect. The SP sounded organic, especially in the first test. It had some unpredictable, natural moments that you can't just add in a mode. I'll definitely be checking out your channel. I got introduced to you this morning, chopping it up with E.A. Ski, and definitely enjoyed what you brought to the conversation.

A sounds so good, I assume it is the SP. B definitely sounded digital and more sterile (somewhat muffled). C sounded cheap and terrible, imo.

I think this is the problem with these comparison. Everyone is always trying compare the “attempts” of the new machines to the standards of the old machines and not the other way around. It showcases bias towards the older hardware. How is the looper function on MPC 4000? What about the stems feature on the 1200? How do the onboard effects of the 3000 stack up against the ones on the Maschine? Beatflex anyone????

The bias is towards fundamentals. All of the other stuff is amazing to have but it becomes less meaningful if the fundamentals aren’t in place. I buy a professional drum machine to have drums sound good in my production. It’s not about sounding vintage, it’s about basics such as transient response, dynamic, frequency response, overall sound quality. All of the other things you mention exist readily in modern DAWs.
