not gonna lie the fact you were pushing out Dilla-esk beats effortlessly and didn’t even like the chops you found frustrated me to my core😪😅 but I stumbled across this video and will definitely be watching your older videos so I can catch up on the vibe. So far I haven’t been disappointed with your workflow yet; keep it going dude.

Real talk my g... being a beatmaker spending hours or basically most of our lives alone with our sounds and pads, I feel like we are hanging and sharing our passion and knowledge (may it be one side, you talking and us watching) but its inspirational makes me feel like I have a peer a colleague who knows the life and singlemindedness passion for the craft. Honestly most of the stuff you explain I already know (yet there is still a lot you teach us) but most of all feels like we hanging and is a boost in creativity and inspirational, so thank you my dude, keep doing what you do, it is appreciated! Much love from The Netherlands! 👊😘✌

The thin one is a flexi disc! I collect them. Mainly used for advertising because they could be inserted in a magazine, or sent through the mail, without shattering. Most of them are complete garbage but some can be gold for sampling. Here in the UK "Lyntone" and "Sound for Industry" were the main flexi labels. Check out the book "Wobbly Sounds" by Jonny Trunk which is like a catalogue of famous ones.

I know we categorize as humans, I get it, but just about anything can work. It's art. As long as it swings right, has a rhythmic vibe and slaps, somebody will feel it... Too often we get caught up with only what sounds familiar or popular. How we put it all together in the end with the lyrics is relevant.

@mana_beast_beats1114
@mana_beast_beats1114 3 жыл бұрын
@@mpchead -- Yup. But here's something interesting, "Self Control" started out as an Italo-Disco song, it was originally by an Italian singer named "Raf" - Laura Branigan made an English cover in the same year. I'm fascinated by little things like that. Like did you know the Knight Rider theme actually is a sample of Harry Thumann's "Sphinx?" And the horn melody comes from Paul Whiteman - Parade of The Wooden Soldiers.

just like Dilla and Premo and Rza etc. IF a person as good as they think they are at makin beats you can take anything freak it and make it sound dope ,I heard stuff from every single record you played that had parts that could have been freaked into a dope track I was over here pulling my hair out like aaarrrgh!! hahahaa! part of the issue is that you gotta break out of making the same boom bap slow laid back beats and be more adventurous and challenging with your tempos (even if its hiphop beats)and your approach to the Beat and samples ... thas what we love about DILLA RZA & PREMO especially producers like NOTTZ yah gotta break from old habits THAT being said I like what you do my dude keep it up

I inherited a HUGE collection (hundreds) of Portuguese fado/ classic records from my Vovo.... I have found some gems, but definitely need to dig. The thing I like is I know when I find a nice loop, or chop, no one will ever know where it comes from. Also old Brasilian music 45's have more groove and some good digging. I'm going to make a response video, and find some Portuguese heat for you. I think I agree about the stabs, I find a lot of stabs because the style of instruments played.
