Thanks so much for doing this video. I am a big Genesis fan, but I haven't been a huge fan of The Musical Box (basically because I didn't know much about them) but I am a much bigger fan now. Their focus on every single detail of the songs, sounds and performance is amazing. I will def have to check them out sometime soon.

Gotta love the Kurzweil chord mapping feature. It's in the Forte and PC4, too.

Jim Alfredson yes indeed, except that feature isn’t in the PC3 so I had to map all the notes individually and be clever about the mapping as to not run out of zones.

I used to play with a genesis tribute band with quite a few vintage gear: Roland space echo, arp Quadra, pro soloist, rmi Electra, phase 100, supafuzz, taurus.....name it.....it's a nightmare to travel with such vintage fragile 40yo + gear and completely useless IF you dont have: -A full team to take care of it on the road -your own sound ingeneer that will also follow you at each shows, you know, the guy who fully understand the sound /atmosphere youre trying to achieve and work around your old noisy gear instead of complaining about how inconvenient your old gear is. that being said, that mapping on the kurz is amazing. the subtilities of the studio recordings makes all the difference

I'm curious on the programming around the 15 minute mark, where he programs organ chords to be played with one finger on the Kurzweil - - - without modern sampling tech, how did Tony Banks pull it off back in the day?

Sounds more like Tony Banks than Tony Banks himself!
