They’ve had the courage to do it and negotiate the local politics to get them on the ground. I think what people forget is that they went to people who were used to releasing cheater into the wild and we’re able to tap into existing best practice and good protocols in the same way that I presume other governments will tap India’s researchers regarding releasing tigers in the future. Cheater on native to India, and it’s great to see them back. Hopefully these cats will produce the nucleus for a population which will roam the whole subcontinent again, especially given the situation with the remaining Asiatic cheetahs up in Iran been pretty much extinct.

The past Masters with tigers, they reached out and got people with similar knowledge base in terms of cheetah, which meant they are not making it has many mistakes as people who didn’t know what they were doing because they have help on tap from Namibia South Africa. The fact that they’ve got Cubs and the cats have barely been in the country seven months even if those first letter also don’t survive. It’s all a learning curb. The fact that the cats are knocking off the local wildlife, but also giving the Tigers when they do encounter them. A wide birth is not a bad thing. It’s an adventure and the rest of the world is enjoying being along for the ride. It’s also nice to see what was a mistake of humanity being put right And not just buy a bunch of NGOs from thousands of miles away but by the country itself using best practice from elsewhere. It takes a village to raise a person. It takes a couple of continents to restore nature.

@@ashishrewar Of course! BBC, Silverback, Wildstar are at a different level altogether. I know this for a fact because I've been working with the aforementioned names and more for past 9 years. :) MP Tiger Foundation Society is not a film production house. Its an NGO to invite donations for Conservation works. Me and few more friends like Farhan Khan, etc. have been making these films on a voluntary basis, within 0.15% budget of a typical 50-min BBC episode. Plus those films vary between 30 to 500 days of filming. We usually get 2-5 days to collect the footage. So just thought I'd give some facts, since we are comparing. And thanks for the appreciation! :)

It’s a pretty new story. The cats have literally been on the place a few months and that’s it. They’ve also started to spread out. It’s only in Namibian cats have got their complete liberty. One of them sadly, passed away with a liver ailment. It’s interesting that they’ve restarted quickly killing the local Chital deer, even though they don’t exist in Africa, they started knocking off the local antelope, which I suppose was similar to what they had at home, along with a larger species of antelope.

Folks - Thanks for releasing this much awaited, though short, documentary on the Cheetahs. Hoping that there is a comprehensive documentary - singular or a series - in the works. Had written to Kuno management prior to the Cheetahs being brought to India to have the Kuno National Park Website as a central repository for all aspects of the Cheetah introduction. To have a "Live Cam" in the Quarantine enclosures and also in the Soft Release pens, so that wildlife enthusiasts like me - in the USA - and others spread all over the world can visually participate in this historic occasion. The Kuno NP can monetize the massive public interest in this historic project by releasing short KZbin video updates on the Cheetah introduction project. There will be sad hiccups along the way, such as the recent deaths of two cheetahs - but the project must go on, imbibing the many unique learnings along the way. More important, interested folks will get single source, authentic progress information rather than the contradictory and needlessly alarmist media reports that have proliferated. Keep up the great work!! Look forward to more great video updates from the team.

Thanks, Arjun! As a matter of fact, based on their GPS locations being recorded 24x7, they are preferring wooded parts of Kuno more than grasslands. The reason why we all have that perception is, photographers and filmmakers find cheetahs easily out in the open so all the action shots can be achieved easily. This fact is coming from Dr. Laurie Marker, not me. :)
