I think its because they genuinely both want what is best for their constituency and the UK, they just have different ideas on what is best. Genuine public servants. This was why Maggie was a hero of mine but so too was Tony Benn- didn't agree with either on every issue but totally respected them as politicians who wanted what was best for the people. It's so predictably typical that Phillips would only stand on common ground with Mogg on the issue of Melania being insulted, though for obviously the wrong reason of just because Melania is female. The rest was just knee-jerk ideologically-based reactions and childish petulance on her part, to which Mogg was doing his best to speak reason in the hopes that she'd maybe learn from his example. If I was this woman's party leader, I'd be doing everything in my power to minimize her presence on the public stage, because she's a continuous embarrassment for her party, her cause, and anyone associated with her. All any opposition party would have to do to construct the perfect ad against her party is 30 seconds of uncut commentary from her.
