66 years ago when I was 2, I named my one & only rocking horse Sildo...because I couldn't pronounce Silver. Thanks to Jay Silverheels & Clayton More... in my 2-4 year old mind Sildo & I went on many adventures hunting down outlaws. I still have old Sildo in his stable of honor. His wooden rockers are worn, and his pinto paint fading, but I'd wager both he & I are up to one more ride. "Hi-Ho Sildo...Away!"

I've been watching the reruns of the Lone Ranger over the past few years. I watched the episodes on the 'ole black & white TV back in the 1950s. I am pleased with the role that Jay Silverheels created with Tonto. You can tell from the episodes that he played a significant role in the Lone Ranger. His character was positive. Take a peek if you have the chance.

It's a shame that for the last 40 years children had no roll models like these .The Lone Ranger was a great show for children .I still watch the reruns and I am 70 .Our children would be better off today if Hollywood hadn't decided to become so wicked and vile. And the stars of this show Jay and Clay were decent people in real lives as well as the screen .They stood for honor and decency and good always won over evil .But today evil is what our young people's minds have been bombarded with .The Lone Ranger and Gene Autry never propagandized children nor did they lead them astray . There were others as well , as the Cisco Kid .And too many of them pushed the saloon drinking and saloon women as a way to relax .Leading to the idea of the after work cocktail .Then you can see the influence that the tv had on our population of alcoholics and loose sex . Even cartoons today have been ruined .Adults put to many things in these cartoons that children are incapable of handling nor should they .Like Disney wants the princess to have an abortion .Really sick and perverted .This is the same crowd that kills our young .And they fight to keep descent heroes like Jay and Clay away from them . Now we see why America's youth is so messed up .Plus a whole lot of other reasons !

I used to watch their show all the time. I still remember that at the end of each show, they dipped out without anyone knowing where they went or who they are. "Who was that masked man?" As a young boy growing up on the Connally Hereford Ranch in south Texas, my earliest heroes were my mother’s brothers. Nevertheless, I had other heroes as well, men who rode the range on the silver screen. Among my favorites were the Lone Ranger and Tonto. In later years, my Uncle Merrill loved to relate the story of how one Saturday morning I came extremely close to missing an episode of my favorite television show. Having hidden beneath a bed to avoid a whipping my mother felt I deserved, she gave me a choice. I could either come out from beneath the bed and take my punishment or forego that weeks episode of The Lone Ranger. As you can well imagine, I eventually came out from beneath the bed and faced the music. Speaking of music, all of these years later, I can not listen to the William Tell Overture without thinking of The Lone Ranger. Hi Ho Silver! God bless Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. May they forever Rest In Peace. Duane

This is a great honor to witness this event years later having seen "The Lone Ranger" years ago in black & white, great tv role models for a whole generation now grandfathers. Clayton Moore I remember seeing his muscular build in a 30s shoot, where he was impressive, then and throughout his post tv show appearances on the Tonight Show. An early cameo part in "Key Largo" for Jay Silverheels showed his striking eyes. Not bad supporting Bogart and Bacall before their tv career began.

Even though I was born in the '70s, my favorite thing to do was to wake up on Saturday mornings and watch cartoons and then somewhere around noon they would have reruns of the lone ranger and I would watch it and as a little boy I was mesmerized by The lone ranger in Tonto, it was good wholesome family show, what breaks my heart is they will never have anything good and wholesome like that anymore, if they tried to redo the TV series today it would absolutely be destroyed by social justice and critical race theory, and they would cast the characters not even close to what they actually were, in other words today's people would absolutely destroy such a good thing.
