Ghana was not formed by any Nkrumah or any big six, but by our chiefs comprising 1. Northern territory 2. Asante territory 3. Southern territory 4. British Togoland [Volta region] It's the chiefs who owned those 4 parts and decided to unite to form Ghana and I do not understand why we are promoting these politicians instead of our forefathers who were and are our chiefs who have preserved this country. Let's abolish the partisan politics in Ghana, it is not helping.

Is the esteemed lawyer implying that Nkrumah knowingly sacrificed the ex-service men for his personal ambition? I hope not. Incidentally, this is not the first time the lawyer has said that, as if it's an honorable thing to do. Nkrumah didn't amass personal wealth, but most of the things he did were geared towards achieving his personal aggrandisement, as his people would say. Finally, if Nkrumah's ideology was so good, why has every attempt to revive it failed? I beg for an answer from the learned lawyer/historian.

Nkrumah’s years in America were during the days of Jim Crow America, a racist era that was second only South Africa’s Apartheid. So, unlike the British trained lawyers, Nkrumah experienced America’s racism at its worst- separatism, lynchings, preferential treatments for whites, a black man is considered 2/3 of a man, no voting rights and host of other horrible treatment black people endured at the hands of white people. Nkrumah was not exempted from government sanctioned racism. Is it any wonder that he wasn’t fond of white people??

Reading his PhD from what someone has written, but not what he has experienced Nana Addo on the other hand he was a witness to the whole event so you cannot know more than him. You have to know that the victor to battle writes the history. @@godfreyoseibonsuapraku8766 Yea, the Official, traditional meaning of the name Ngoloma/Nkrumah is "nineth born children". However, in certain traditional homes particularly Etse/Ekyi Fante areas the same spelling Nkrumah references or connotes another meaning which is "Nkro ba" or "Nkro ma" (typical Ekyi - Fante) meaning "children who are born once". In fact, the spelling "koro ba" is the same connotation of "nkro ba" or "Nkro ma" ( Koro/Nkro - Once; ba/ma - child/children). So since the official name Nkrumah is derived from Ngoloma (nzemaa version of spelling nineth born children) then it stands to say that the actual meaning of his name is nineth born children even though he may have entertained the idea that it signified "koro ba" given the fact that he was indeed the only child of his father and mother. But in reality his name (Ngoloma) as given to him thru his father only signifies the official meaning nineth born children - as Nzemas, as I have studied Akan naming system, do not have an equivalent of "kro/koro ba" or "Nkro ba" that is spelled Ngoloma (the actual Nzema written form of his name).

The official and traditional meaning of the name Ngoloma/Nkrumah is "ninth born children." There, it references "Nkro ba" or "Nkro ma," which in typical Ekyi-Fante dialect means "children who are born once." In fact, the spelling "koro ba" has the same connotation as "nkro ba" or "Nkro ma" (where "Koro/Nkro" means "once" and "ba/ma" means "child/children"). Given that the official name Nkrumah is derived from Ngoloma, the Nzema version spelling for "ninth born children," it can be concluded that the actual meaning of his name is indeed "ninth born children." This is true even if he might have entertained the idea that it signified "koro ba," considering that he was, in fact, the only child of his father and mother. However, in reality, the name Ngoloma, as given to him by his father, signifies the official meaning of "ninth born children." As I have studied the Akan naming system, it is clear that the Nzemas do not have an equivalent for "kro/koro ba" or "Nkro ba" that is spelled as Ngoloma, which is the actual Nzema written form of his name.

The spelling "koro ba" shares this connotation, where "Koro/Nkro" means "once," and "ba/ma" means "child/children." Since the official name Nkrumah is derived from Ngoloma, the Nzema spelling for "ninth born children," it stands to reason that the original meaning of his name is indeed "ninth born children." This holds true even if there may have been a belief that it signified "koro ba," given that he was the only child of his parents. In reality, the name Ngoloma, as given by his father, signifies the official meaning of "ninth born children."
