This is an EPIC vehicle and driver combination. You can tell this car was built from the ground up and every piece was purpose built. You can hear the different cuts of the gears in the gearbox, straight cuts in the lower gears and more helical in the high gears. You can't even see the space between the car and the wall @ 7:33. This car was built to win even if it doesn't take a pole. Great capture of a legend in the making.

It sounds like the original M20 engine that came with the car , ported with larger crank and longer push rods, etc..to make 3.0 liters. You can actually make up to 3.2 liters with the original 2.5 liter. I'm actually having a 3.2 built from my 2.5 at the moment :)

SpaceManDawn There are classes, mostly dependant on engine size and age of the car, then some special classes for open cockpit cars, etc..

You can find more info about the rules applicable to the "European Hill-Climb" and "Historic Hill-Climb" championships here: www.fia.com/Regulations Yes, there are classes, but many run just for fun too. They're local/national drivers and not everyone has the money/sponsorship to go on tour through Europe and do the whole Championship, specially because the prize awards are nothing special...

for a car with a heavy 3.0 engine...i got to say it has a very nice weight distribution,i wonder what type of suspension set up this car has?...good sound track by the way

al alex D2 It's not a heavy 3 liter, it's the original M20 2.5 liter bumped up to 3 liters. It has always had a good weight distribution at F/R: 53%/47%. The suspension is most likely a coil over setup as he is as tight as he can possibly be looking at his ground clearance. Looks like he may even be running 16's to keep nice and low.

Zidan 27 That's the rear differential after some wear and tear :). They can still go a good while with the whine.
